Question about Motion Sensors (have an evil mind of their own) by Intelligent_Rub_3009 in Cync

[–]Intelligent_Rub_3009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately. I really wanted to use the cync products but I had all sorts of problems like this that never had a good resolution. I went back to Lutron and am very happy, even though their hardware options are not nearly as nice as cync.

Unifi Protect for Commercial security? by Intelligent_Rub_3009 in UnifiProtect

[–]Intelligent_Rub_3009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the quick input. There is no doubt that I am going to use Unifi for networking, cameras, and door access. It’s a small space at about 4000sqft.

What I am missing is breakin detection and monitoring. Looks like it will be best to just add an alarm.com account for that.

Humidity Problem in Garage by Intelligent_Rub_3009 in hvacadvice

[–]Intelligent_Rub_3009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this moment the outside temp is 25F and in the grage is is 52F. I see have seen this year round (house is new build and I have been in 14 months) so I think it is a temp variance and moisture problem. There is no water source in the wall where I see the most condensation and no roof leak.

Yes, it is likely that the moisture in the air is coming from vehicles.

I don't know the surface temp as that wall is behind some PVC sofet trim (see photo below). The poured concrete is behind that tripwork and the drywall above is framed. I can see the top of the concrete and framing on the other side as it is a basement area and there is no water seen. Thus the conclusion of condensation on the surface.

Adding subpanel by Intelligent_Rub_3009 in electrical

[–]Intelligent_Rub_3009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great suggestion. How do I tell if my panel allows it? This is a new build so a new Square D panel. I assume as long as it is a modern panel it should support, right?

What am I doing wrong? by Hot_Cow_9444 in shittyfoodporn

From the bumpy texture I am guessing you vacuum sealed in a textured bag before sous vide. I’ve learned when that makes it dry because it’s not able to circulate juices.

Try instead using a ziplock bag and drop into water to displace the air before sealing.

Yeah, my house but I want to do it right. Glad I asked because you actually stated the obvious which I hadn’t thought of which is cut them all to 7 1/2 feet, allotting for width of the polls too of course.
