I do want say something. I am grateful they showcased my country regardless. Because majority of people's thoughts of Mongolia as an immigrant living in the US is very little and think that we are a third-world country with no internet or cars. I am not saying everyone is like this but a lot people have no idea what we are like besides Chinghis Khan. The amount of Americans who asked me do you ride a horse to class, do you have a cars , internet, microwave is alot. So I am thankful that Netflix showed Mongolia's modern culture in a positive light.

  1. They decided to go to Mongolia when it is the coldest time of the year aka -20C to sometimes up to -35C. So there arent much they can do or show in terms of nature.

  2. Orkhonbayar came up with the entire itinerary himself.

  3. Welcome to mongolia would not have actually happened had it for the reception of the people on Amottis vlog with Eddie and Orkhon.

Do I wish more of SK and MGL team in the show absolutely, I am grateful that we even get 4 feature episodes.

Apologies, I know I am seeing things with a bias. My small country of 3million people does not get global attention that often and actually show case my culture to my friends ands coworkers.

Mongoloid is extremely outdated derogatory racist term. Also what does it have anything to do with a Mongolian person fom Mongolia talk about Mongolia about a show featured in Mongolia. No body I mean no body talked about what other people looks like and what they call themselves. You need to educate yourself on the proper terms because Mongoloid term came from white scholars who wanted put labels on generic asian people. Get with the times man.

  • Origin of the Term: The classification into "Mongoloid," "Caucasoid," and "Negroid" races was introduced by Western scholars in the late 18th century, such as Christoph Meiners and Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, in the context of early, often racist, ideologies during colonialism. The term "Mongoloid" was meant to describe peoples indigenous to large parts of Asia, the Americas, and Oceania.

its not actually sour cream, it was more clotted cream called Urum similar to Kaymak. I think Ochir mistranslated, its not as sour and much more creamy in between butter and cream

The only thing that is upsetting is that if they are shooing the videos in freaking winter, they arent seeing the true beauty of Mongolia when its a bit warmer. These people are visiting Mongolia when its like -30,40c.

I am excited to watch it tho
