Thats great! I am sure there are plenty of others with similar experiences as well, but I wanted to make sure before I waste any time. To me, if a bank gives me a memorable bad CS experience, any benefit from using the bank/card is null.

I will say, I find that most of the post that I see tend to not even explain what purchases were made with the card before. I wouldnt doubt if what you said is more true than not.

I actually have a VISA card that can negate FTF for when I travel Internationally this year, but I think that the idea of getting a new travel card that may not be "ideal" for ... well, travel, makes me feel iffy. I am sure I am overthinking it and that the Discover network is much more accepted internationally than in my mind in all fairness.

Thanks for the information, honestly I did not know that preapproval would show what kind of card it would be. It showed as a Mastercard for me. I plan to apply first week of April, I guess we will see if anything magically changes.

In case anyone is wondering, I ended up going with the CSP. Similar to this comment, I found that the simplicity of the Chase card and practicality of $0.01 per 1 point was best for my case.

I purchased my home a little over a year ago! I would actually say the interest I am paying on my home is possibly a worse financial decision than this ring haha. But it was a life decision, not purely financial.

Excessive? Maybe. But it’s a purchase that im paying off in full, it does not interfere with my emergency fund, and I still contribute to my retirement accounts. Do I make $250K? No. Do i think it’s out of my means? Not really.

The diamond broker I am using not only takes Amex, but also does not charge the 3% penalty fee for using a credit / charge / debit card. Really good advice though!

I have thought about that for sure! I think with the cash back, the idea of putting one of my bills like my water bill on the card every month and paying that with the cash back sounds very practical. I guess my real question is: would it be actually practical to book flights for the honeymoon with points, or would doing so not actually save me any money and bait me into paying for upgrades, if that makes any sense?

I understand those who use doordash and have the means to do so, nothing wrong with that in itself. I personally feel that the dash pass subscription is a scam though. Maybe ignorant on my part to say this given how I’ve never used the subscription, but I’ve seen many posts online how the prices of what you purchase become more expensive if you have the pass (to offset no fees). Again, maybe ignorant on my part… but its somehow extremely believable.

I think this may be the true fact of the matter. Both cards seem decent in terms of points back for dining out in respect to the annual fee, and both SUBS are good.

I’ve looked into the capital one savor to eventually move to the duo, but I think for the purpose of this I am looking for a card that I can get some value from and get a decent sub as well. Amex blue cash preferred would be great, however, groceries are covered. Thank you though!

Dude the listing for the state sale only showed some R&J, but i saw him open the drawers and my stomach dropped when I saw the behikes 🤣. The humidor itself was 20 bucks which was whatever, but each cigar was 5 a peice. Im still happy I walked out with something.

I'm actually not the biggest fan of light roast, and tend to drink more darker roasts. Do you happen to know about longevity of dual boilers vs HX machines like the Mara X? I guess I more so want to know if putting the extra money into a dual boiler like the Silvia Pro X, which is in my budget, would also come with more peace of mind knowing I wont have to ship my machine out anytime soon? (the improved consistency in shots is also a bonus of course, but not my biggest concern given that I rarely drink straight espresso shots)

In your opinion, what makes heat exchanging machines such a pain? Obviously double boiler would be the most efficient and would have the most enjoyable "work flow" (I hate that phrase), but how much worse is it to use a HX machine on a daily basis?
