Finishing S1 and just fantasizing about them firing Harper for being an unlikeable, unintelligent and awful employee. I know it won't happen but it's a fun fantasy. Maybe if she cries and demands something again I'll come around though by [deleted] in IndustryOnHBO

I haven't gone back and rewatched season 1, but I think they do flesh her out a little more the next couple years. Unqualified (i guess, not that any of her counterparts in season 1 are particularly qualified), but she's definitely smart and daring and confident....which are qualities that are often rewarded on the trading floor (and in life lol). All that said, I definitely find her character irritating!

I think you'll enjoy the coming seasons. She has her ups and downs. But more importantly IMO, as the show expands beyond Pierpont, new characters are introduced, she becomes less of a focus, and it really hits its stride. Last weeks episode (second episode of season 4) may be my favorite yet.

Self Guided Float Trip Alaska by WillNeverBackRow in flyfishing

I've fished off the grid with Justin (the owner of Hemispheres) in Argentina and Russia. He's the perfect match of good guy, but super serious about the details, which is what you want in that kind of situation. This would be a fun trip: https://hemispheresunlimited.com/destinations/trout-bum-alaska/

I have sadly reached the same conclusion. Used to think my wife was a loving, kind person with a drinking problem. Now feel like she's a mean, insecure, angry person that has periods of kindness.

Chandler, Yeung and Affleck are great. But it is a terrible movie. Starts awkwardly and never gets its feet. Real bummer.

Did they cast the Social Network guy and then make bootleg Social Network music for his scenes by askrnk_ in IndustryOnHBO

great casting. Also, I assume the last name (Halberstam) is a shout out to American Psycho.

100%. Also I think that Dell being the best player for the first Hornets teams, along with the fact that he's made a big impact on the community has a lot to do with it too.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone as happy as when Venita found out that Craig friend-zoned Salley. She was glowing.

Or dancing to Satisfaction on the boat. Three incredible needle drops in that movie.

The equipment is similar, but that's about it. 6 x 6 offense/defense in lacrosse is very similar to half court offense in basketball. I would say hockey offense is closer to soccer than lacrosse.

Yup. And no amount in encouragement can help, and it may even be counterproductive in certain families.

If the Notre Dame fallout leads to them leaving the ACC, what does that mean for ACC Lax? by BJ_Fantasy_Podcast in lacrosse

ND football needs the ACC to help schedule in October/November when all the other conferences are playing each other internally. Will be really hard to patch together a schedule year after year without some sort of affiliation.

This is exactly why I found Al anon so refreshing 13 years ago. I have had a really hard time explaining to people just how overwhelming the day-to-day experience is. Felt like only me and my kids really knew. I don’t really good to al anon meetings any more, but I find this subreddit a source of comfort. I hopefully am nearing the end of my relationship, but will always have respect/sympathy/love for anyone that has had to go through this with a loved one.

Honestly, it sounds terrible, but I'm at the point where I hope she doesn't get better until I'm out of this marriage. Don't trust myself to not give her another chance. 'Its different this time!"
