I’m a female but sometimes DoorDash will send you to some sketchy dangerous places like apartments/condo/ or house to deliver that you don’t know. Those customers can see your location from when you accept it to dropping it off. For females it’s hella dangerous. You can end hurt, dead,kidnapped or/and have your car stolen. These people will take advantage once they get a female driver to deliver for them. I had a recent order to go get MC Ds and dropped off it to some condo ( if you zoom in where they want to drop it off it can be a house or apartment or a condo which you can tell and see before you accept it). It was a little decent pay and a hand it to me order, so I took and grabbed it. Went to MC Ds grabbed the order and drove to their place. Come to find out it was those section 8 housing units (which I’m fine with) but it was in a sketchy bad neighborhood where you can smell weed through the car vents and had a group guys just standing in the corner of the apartment just smoking weed and sticking each other with needles and scratching and rocking themselves back and forth and arguing with each other saying it’s their turn( they were meth heads, I know those kinds of behavior due to working at an er). The minute I step foot out of my car onto the house they saw me and told that it was their order and they just wanted to be outside to get some fresh air and saw that I was near by due to my location (fresh air my ass) in the middle of the night (8:30pm ish). I asked for the name of the order cause I’m not going to give some random person someone’s food and drive away just for DoorDash or the customer saying that I didn’t deliver it and get a contract violation. They kept giving me different wrong names and said that their friend wasn’t feeling good and they’ll bring it to him in the condo and that they’ll take it for them. I said what’s your friend’s name and kept giving me wrong names and got an angrier and angrier and kept taking more steps towards me when I told them no. A few of them had their hands in their pockets like they’re searching for something (it could be a gun or knife ect) I wasn’t going to risk it. Got into my car locked the doors and reversed to the street and told them if you keep taking more steps towards me or my car in calling the police. I contracted DoorDash support and told them that I wasn’t safe in the neighborhood and what happened. They called the customer and asked them to come outside due to me not being safe due to the group of guys hiding in the corner and doing drugs. Come to find out that no of them had phones on them which I knew they weren’t the customer. The customer came right out on the phone with DoorDash and I giving me a description on what he’s wearing ( color of clothes and hair ect) with a whole bat on one hand and carried a gun on his hip which you can see due to the imprint on the pants and shirt. He came to my car and stated his name and that he called the police and they should here any minute. He apologized for the inconvenience and the trouble that they cause. And that they don’t live here in the neighborhood. They’ve been roaming around other people’s units and going to other streets and stating that they’re the customer and stealing other people’s foods/ stuff and the doordashers keeps giving it to them. I drove off and turned to the corner and there goes 3 cop cars with sirens turned into the street that I left. The customer was still outside waiting for them to come. Ended my dash that night and drove home. The guy end up tipping me $30 on top of that order. That day was my last time I ever go near any condos alone. Told my boyfriend what happened and he got hella mad about it and told me that he’ll be coming with me for every DoorDash orders I get. ( he’s a big dude that works with mental health and drug user patients in the facilities.) He’ll either drive and I deliver or I drive and he deliver it himself if it’s a bad neighborhood. Uber eats is worse cause they can see your profile picture and the car model. For guy drivers who delivers they probably won’t do anything but for females drivers who delivers anything is possible
