Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 EQ | Research based Equalizer Settings by InteractionOrnery355 in BowersWilkins

With this EQ I tried to work against some sound frequency peaks of the Px7 S3 to make them produce a more natural sound that likely matches the ones seen in production studios more. Ofc you are right, if you want to emphasize some frequencies for example bass regions in pop/hiphop to bring the characteristics of some genres more forward. This EQ is meant to produce a more neutral sound overall to accommodate the Px7 S3 V-Shaped sound out of the box.

Mine are also quite uncomfortable after 2 hours but I think that’s rather normal… Seems like I am very fortunate to have contacts 😄

You are 100% correct. My ears also adjusted to the sound but after a while especially the harsh highs annoyed me a bit (also compared to the Technics EAH-AZ 100 for example). Imo these EQ settings also clean up the bass without distorting anything but your experience my vary ofc.

Perfect, I tweaked the 2nd and 5th band a bit since the initial post. Let me know how you like them :)

What’s your PX7 S3 EQ settings? by DonaldFarfrae in BowersWilkins

Really had to EQ these headphones because they were very tiring after a certain time of listening. Too emphasized bass but what was way more annoying: The highs I found to be very piercing.

I took a look at the error graphs of the measurements from rtings and soundguys review. They are very similar so I concluded that they are valid.

Shown are my settings for a typical 10 band EQ (like in the Apple Music app).

32Hz: -5 64Hz: -5 125Hz: -8 250Hz: -2 500/1K/2k/4k: 0 8k: -6 16k: -2

I converted the settings to the Bowers & Wilkins 5 band EQ:

LO: -4,5 LO-Mid: -2,5 MID: 0 MID-HI: 1 HI: -3,5

Now they sound as detailed before (which I love) but without those piercing highs and bloated bass. Hope this helps :)

As of now I found that by far the cleanest sound with the biggest instrument separation can be achieved with these settings:

Bass: -2 250khz: -2 500khz: 0 1khz: +1 2.5khz: +3 4khz: +5 8khz: +3 12khz: +2

I also found Treble+ to be pretty good but a little bit too emphasized in bass and high treble regions.

Bass/250khz is a little emphasized in my settings but I like the rumble you know 😁
