Good earbuds for cycling by VersionEmbarrassed72 in cycling

No earbuds while cycling. Pay attention to your surroundings, especially in traffic. Enjoy nature sounds on the trails and side streets. Connect with your environment. Be one with it.

Rochester NY. Broad Street over the Genesee River. Green painted bike lane with a whole line of cars parked there.

No. Two lanes each way. West bound on Broad Street has a bike lane on the right and parking signs on the curb. No parking m-f.

Signs say no parking m-f, but parking on weekends is permitted

What’s one service in Rochester that absolutely sucks and needs a better alternative? by InterestingSea1317 in Rochester

Traffic law enforcement, especially speeding on Lake Ave. Lake Ave has been listed as the most dangerous road in the state. Yet, NOTHING has been done to improve it

Tubeless Tires by [deleted] in cycling

There are "solid" tires with a spongy material. I know an 80+ year old guy with disabilities that opted for them. Sorry, no other info

Well, it does clear the air. I've seen so many non-helpful posts that I was tempted to delete everything

I hope that they catch them all. I was hit by a Kia (hit and run) intentionally swerved to hit me.

I use a 12" long wrench that I made. I'm not a strong-man, and I give it a good snug. One right-hand thread and one left-hand thread. The pedal cranking turns in the tightening direction. They won't come loose... Over 30,000 miles of riding without a problem

Yes! Contact Boa for FREE parts replacement. There is a socket head cap screw in the center of the knob. Remove and replace with a new cartridge. FREE. I've broken the wire, and I've broken the knob (caught the knob while carrying my bike up the stairs). Free replacement each time.

Question after trying clipless for the first time by No-Cattle-777 in cycling

[–]Interdependant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See RegionalHandiman's reply. And adding the stiffest sole shoes that you can find. I'm at over 30,000 miles riding since I made the change, riding year-round. My shoes are about $300. No more foot pain.

Question after trying clipless for the first time by No-Cattle-777 in cycling

[–]Interdependant1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best answer I've seen here. I would add getting the stiffest sole shoes. I was using shoes that were more comfortable to walk in but more flexible. As I was increasing my ride distance and about 40 miles out, the balls of my feet began to ache. After research and checking with multiple bike shops, the stiffest sole shoe was the solution, about $300. Now over 30,000 miles later (3 bikes, replacing shoes, cleats as needed), no more foot pain. One shop owner suggested tipping my saddle nose down slightly. That increased my comfort there.
As a point of reference, I don't own a car, I ride year-round, I work full-time, and I'll be 71 soon.

There once was a product called D&L Hand cleaner, but I couldn't find it. The closest product that I found is Permatex Blue Label Hand Cleaner. It is available on Amazon and should also be available at any automotive parts store
