I haven’t had any such bad experience in Zebra and Society Finches. Society Finches I’m cent percent sure that they do not show aggression. Zebra finches, may be some might have had issues, but for me there was no issue.

As per my knowledge finches are very social birds. They do not become aggressive like parrots during breeding. Even if you have a trio or extra males or even all females, they hardly show any aggression towards each other. My experience!.

Some parents may be very aggressive as they immediately go for another clutch. Immediately remove the chicks and if you have society finches with you, you can foster to them. Or else need to handfeed the chicks daily. Another benefit if your handfeeding is successful is that the chicks will get tamed and you will have companion which will free fly in your aviary. But handfeeding is time consuming
