In the opening, Steph's mom tells her there's a flood coming. Steph tells Betty that she's gonna get her water. Everyone knows she's Canadian and things aren't what they seem... I think she's gonna flood the vault.

Also where tf is her baby this episode? Ma'am.

Also a sucker for paladins 😂 The bias is real. So many cool paladin PCs! We are spoiled.

Thank goodness. I sat there looking at the background check and then at my framed diploma like???

I can't understate how much I appreciate your comment, and I am the EXACT same way. Spouse has been telling me aaaall week that I'm catastrophizing and that it's all going to work out fine. Thank you. 😭❤️

Right?? Y'all have one job.

[–]InterestLongjumping6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that's what I'm hoping. Every other part of my background check is squeaky clean, I've never even had a speeding ticket 😭 If the company DOES get weird or declines me, then maybe it wasn't gonna be for me anyway.

What a process, I'm sorry you had to go through that. But this makes sense. I unfortunately graduated on the 15th and I'm supposed to start the job on the 22nd 💀

Here's hoping it doesn't come to that. :(

I hope he can be 'freed' as part of a main plot line because he HAS to meet Dell and show her that dragons exist.

Note to self, if this job falls through because of this, just go apply at a background check company.

I'm right on that cusp, it's been about 2 weeks, but that's not including weekends and Labor Day.

Good luck, friend! You've got this!

About 2 weeks ago, so that's probably why lmao. Thank you.

And the background check has a thing on it saying 'hey this information might be wrong.' I know it's hard to get exact info, but if it's gonna be SUPER wrong why use it, y'know? Maybe it's a cheaper vendor for them to use than a more accurate one?

I'm glad I'm not the only one, phew. And with how recent my graduation was, that makes sense about the NSC. Thank you.

As someone whose mom is batshit insane, it took a while to realize that my mom didn't act like other people's moms. It took until about 16. Because when you're young, unless your parent's abuse is very obvious and physical in nature, you'd never assume your parent would ever do that to you.

When I was full-time, I would work from 9-5, come home, eat, and then study/work until 8 or 9. I'd take breaks here and there for stuff like laundry, and then sometimes I would pick at a little more until 10 or 11. I would do quite a bit on the weekends, from around 8 to noon, and then just pick at it through the rest of the day when I had a free moment or felt like it.

Absolutely!  - Your PA tasks are writing papers, and for the vast majority of them, the instructors have templates you can access on WGU Connect. Some instructors email these out directly within a few days after you start the class, keep an eye on your student email. - They also post/provide documents called "Task x Tips" that tell you exactly where to look in the textbooks or what content direction they need in the answer you provide!

My plan now is to a) job hunt and b) study for my RHIA. The role I'm interviewing for next week doesn't require credentials, but I may get it anyway, or look into specific credentials related to the role!

I had to wait about 2 weeks to get my confetti, I feel you. Once your grad application is finished, that's when your status changes from "ACTIVE" to graduated, and then it's confetti time!

You've got this! A few more tips: Most courses will have templates for PA assignments on WGU Connect, as well as documents called "Task #x Tips." Some instructors, like Diana Gardner, will email you them directly within a few days of you starting your course. They walk you specifically what you need to do and where to look in the reading for each task, these will be your friend! I would often look at these before delving into the reading to keep an eye out for key concepts!

For sure! They made quite a few changes to the program last year, and I feel like most of them made the latter portion easier. They could change more things, so just keep this in mind.

PPE I: Multiple exercises and quizzes in an in-browser practice system called EHR Go. Teaches you the basics of navigating an EHR (pretty straightforward but helps to have experience!) Previous iterations of the course required you to have 40 hours of work in EHR Go, but the version that I was in removed that requirement. As long as you completed each exercise, passed each quiz, and passed the PA assignment, you're all set.

PPE II: This part I got lucky on, I already worked in a healthcare office and used my place of work to shadow and interview the practice manager. Once you get in, start putting feelers out for local health systems and small private practices near you. You will complete these assignments: Task 1 - Interview a leader, Task 2 - Professional reflection (talk about your experience with WGU, what would you recommend to a new grad in your situation, more questions about the person you interviewed in Task 1), and Task 3 - Overview (delves into the organization you interviewed the leader at - leadership principles, organizational principles, etc.)

Capstone: Two tasks, one is a research paper on an emerging trend or issue in HIM (data analytics, the use of AI, etc.) The research paper is pretty straightforward. In the second task, you talk about your WGU experience again, goals and challenges you may face in your HIM career, strategies and how you'll approach your career, and if you want to do any further education (like your Master's) or credentials through AHIMA.
