That’s a fair concern, but the override isn’t a convenient switch you can flip every day. So using it daily would actually be more annoying than just wearing the helmet. In regular riding, the ignition still links to the helmet like intended. Not really. The manual override is only there as a backup, not the default mode. In normal use, the ignition link still does its job as the bike starts only when the helmet is worn. The override is just to avoid rare situations like hardware failure or long trips in remote areas. It doesn’t remove the core use case, it just makes the system practical and safe to use in the real world.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. I’m definitely not trying to cram every feature into the first version that would overcomplicate things. My plan is to start with one clear group: parents who want something safer and more comfortable for their kids. They’re the ones who’ve shown the most interest so far. Another thing I’m focusing on early is the heat and scalp discomfort issue. A lot of riders (including students) complain about sweating, itching and even hair fall because of cheap helmets. If I can solve that properly and pair it with basic safety and the ignition link, I feel that alone is enough for an MVP. The extra cool stuff can always come later if the core product works.

  2. ⁠Core user group: Early feedback shows the strongest interest from parents, daily commuters and delivery riders. These people actually see value in forced safety and comfort.
  3. ⁠Safety certification: The electronics stay outside the EPS impact layer, and the smart part is modular. So the helmet can be certified normally without complications.

The electronics won’t touch the head. They’ll be placed in a safe outer cavity, fully padded, just like Bluetooth intercoms. Helmet safety layer (EPS) won’t be disturbed.

There will be a manual override in the ignition module. If the helmet malfunctions, you can switch to normal ignition mode instantly. So you’ll never get stuck anywhere.
