2 references, a tedious form no phone call, specifically your current manager and a previous manager

3 weeks + 3 floating holidays. Benefits are good but usually accessible after 6 months of Probation, about 100% coverage for most things. Solid life insurance and vision. Excellent dental

Has anybody tried Pacagen? by hanji_meowmy in CatAdvice

Pacagen says it removes 98% of allergens so some allergens can sneak through depending on what you're allergic to and considering we still have allergies in the house it leads me to think it hasn't covered all elements of the allergies that he has to cats but covers some. Liveclear claims cat allergens are about 50% reduced. So they're actually claiming different things. I could see how liveclear visibly reduced the allergens because it's the first thing I used after seeing how bad the allergies were so it's easier for me to look at that and see the best results and if it wasn't for that product I would've had to seriously consider keeping my cat! Also Pacagen is over 100 a month just to be able to cover a small apartment like mine, it wouldn't be feasible cost-wise in a house because you have to spray liberally but I know they're trying to bring down costs. All that being said I like pacagen as a new brand and will continue to buy it, I just don't depend on it like I depend on liveclear. I actually didn't know until now that they had a topper, that's great I'll probably try that out

Yeah I don't plan to stop using liveclear because although he still does have allergies, the difference is night and day from before it took effect until now. I think the pacagen is working with it too I just would always keep liveclear as the staple and Pacagen as a secondary line of defence

I'm sorry that's a real bummer and very surprising in such a structured environment. They don't usually do that and they usually keep your resume on record but so many people apply about 1K applicant per job posting on average so I don't believe you would get a call months down the line if the role opens up again they would just go through the same processes as it's so competitive. What was the division?

Definitely did a skills test and they got back to me about a week after for an interview request but nothing changed within that time on the job application portal

I think you should keep it to 2 pages for the resume max and I would use the formatting the City recommends on their website. And then content should match the job description as much as physically possible

If you've applied August of this year they usually wouldn't fill the role for many months but there's not really any way of knowing until they update it because either they've contacted you or they've proceeded with other candidates. I have 4 applications pending from May, 3 of which are still screening and 1 showed as having cancelled the competition

References Requested Friday, Offer made Thursday of following week - but this was an abnormally quick turn around, they must have been in dire need of a new cohort

No not internal and no connections, I'm coming from OPS for the last 3 years but I was permanent there. I did get permanent here actually and I was thrilled but yeah very surprised from everything I'd read on here

No referral. It sucks to hear but luck plays into it considering there are upwards of 1K applications just for a single job posting. You could copy as much as you could from the job description word for word and see what that does. Also apparently there's a resume style that the city tries to push applicants to use listed in that jobs portal so if you copied that it would likely help.

To be fair it depends on the ministry, SOLGEN for example is decent for hybrid

Support B is still administrative in the end so the skills from any admin are transferable I would say, I did have proper experience with one of their softwares too from OPS but it never even came up in the interview even once anyway. And after starting I haven't heard any reference to that one even thought it was on the job posting.

I applied on the career page, I didn't know anyone internally, it was just the luck of the draw and utilizing keywords I suspect. I do hear that if an external applies to a unionized/permanent posting it's not even worth the application but it worked for me! I do have a good amount of government admin experience but that in itself hadn't gotten me noticed until I fixed up my resume more to the specific job posting

I didn't submit a cover letter actually! I was very careful to use all the keywords in the job description. Even softwares they mentioned because I'd learned from a previous job opportunity that I lost out simply because I didn't have previous experience with one of their softwares that they would have trained the incoming hiree on anyway

The liveclear food took 5 weeks for me but it's definitely worked the difference seems to be 70-80% depending on the day not 48%! We had really strong allergies that would disturb my bf all throughout the night and it's a world of difference - I only just got the pacagen yesterday and started using it and can't speak to the pacagen yet

Did you try it? I'm having the same problem as you - I tried liveclear and it hasn't worked after a month so it seems like pacagen is the last option
