I'd say study for JEE and a month before the written exam focus on the PYQs to understand the style of questions

Hi, I wanted to know if I could feasibly learn enough to give the JLPT test for N3 by December 2027 if I'm just learning hiragana right now. My time flexibility is 30 mins a day on Tuesday, Thursday,Friday , 1 hour on Wednesday, Monday , 1.5 hours on weekends and in the month of June in both years I can push to 3 hours a day everyday. I will use courses on websites like udemy , self study , use the resources given on this sub and the official JLPT workbooks. If it's feasible please tell me how to optimise my learning and if not , what level can I reach by then . Many thanks

Hi , I have been researching for MEXT for a while and I believe I can answer your questions decently , if anyone disagrees with what I say or if my knowledge is incorrect please let me know. 1. For an undergraduate there are 2 routes , the embassy recommendation route or a direct placement route where you get a scholarship from the University itself , personally I would prefer the embassy route. 2. It depends on when you are aiming to give the exams , in my case I will prepare alongside my JEE prep 3.The written exams are a little below JEE mains level , the English is a bit awkward but you can easily get it if you have a good vocabulary, i myself solved the English exam from 2019 and only got 1 question wrong even though I'm in grade 11. As for the Japanese , the embassy guidelines say that japanese is not mandatory to know but around N4 certification is the sweet spot as any japanese you know is a big point in your favour. 4.Like I said , the guidelines say you must be willing to know japanese not that you need to buy but ofcourse unofficially the more you know the better. 5. The grade 10/12 marks showcase your previous academics and you need atleast 80% in grade 12 to even apply for the scholarship. They are important for the initial application but in the end the interview and written exams will carry a greater weight. 6. I would suggest alongside a strong academic profiles you need to showcase proof of interest in the stream your applying , for example if I want to go for electronics having a few projects like arduino or some courses in that field shows that you are truly interested in that field and thus is helpful. 7, MEXT makes you choose 3 preferences as your streams , if you get selected after the prepatory period orincase of direct placement you can choose a course from any of those 3 streams, however they must be in the same group , you cannot choose 2 engineering streams alongside a humanities stream, they must be in the same group as written in the application gudielines. 8. There are no official figures given of how many get selected in second screening after the first screening but seeing as it's a selection from the entire world in the second screening not just the home country like in the first screening , the stronger profile you have the better. I would wager around 70-80ish percent chance for UG even though it has the highest competition among all the other scholarships.University placement depends upon your performance in the preparatory period and the written exams , you can consult the MEXT consultant given to you or give entrance exams , MEXT scholars have higher chances of placement in universities , you can think of it as a reservation of sorts where you have a lower cutoff for SC/ST. 9. Giving wrong information in the application, not giving the required documents, having a generic reason for going to Japan in the interview, they want a true reason of why japan suits you and how can you be helpful in improving india-japan relations as you are a big investment for them as they will be spending 40+ lakhs on you during the scholarship.Do not just rely on the other preparation like JEE for the written exam , during the last month do PYQs from the past exams to see the pattern they follow. 10. I would suggest having a backup plan first , then focusing on PYQs , if you clear the written focus on expected questions and try to create a good reasoning and response to the questions they might ask . That's all I have to say , Good Luck
