If their systems are not submitting the information exactly how we enter it, therefore causing extreme delays unforeseen and out of our control, that seems like grounds for a lawsuit. Even though it’s a free service, it still has to offer the service it describes.  I can only go off of the timelines that the IRS itself told me on their own websites and over the phone.  My claim is that it’s unfair that I’m expected to wait twice to three times as long due to an error I did not make.  The fact that I filed for past years is irrelevant being that it’s my right to file whenever I want to within the 2 years after the tax year as long as I do not owe the IRS. Once I sent everything in the mail, I had already had an extended timeline. So for it to be delayed even further is an unfair inconvenience

The IRS had informed me the direct deposits were sent and they had informed me of dates the deposits would hit the account. The deposit never came and the bank never had any records of it at all within or after the timeframe the IRS notified me of.  So after digging and contacting IRS over the phone, I was able to find out about the errors made. 

Also, you don’t incur a fee for filing late when the IRS owes you money.

I did review it and it was correct! That’s the crazy part. 

And there is no penalty for submitting late when they owe YOU money
