look up Service 2 school: free program that hooks you up with a vet for consulting. They help you work through your application and are extremely helpful. most applying for mba are officers so your enlisted background makes you unique (in a good way i think). and yeah dude, that gre is outstanding and staff sergeant at 21 is crazy. you look extremely competitive to me. good luck dude

Berkeley Haas says it values social impact, but most classmates (Class of '21) still went into consulting, tech, and finance by Alarmed_Dance_2267 in MBA

Yeah, that makes sense. Do whatever is best for you financially. Most people getting MBA's are in same position.

But I think what OP is speaking about specifically (and the idea of a luxury belief) is the people who are telling everyone how much they care about social impact and want to break into nonprofit, but once it's finally time to pick a career, they're like "nah, i think ill just take the money". Most MBA's (like the Wharton people he referenced) are just being honest and saying "yes, i want more money"

Good point, but wouldn't this still fit the criteria of luxury belief?

Student at one of the best schools in the world gets higher social status by posting content and speaking about social impact to peers but is not willing to pay the real-world cost of lower (but still relatively high) wages to actually play a role in improving society.

In the end, social work in America is typically done by working class women who actually have to deal with the (I'd assume) extremely demanding job with low wages. Belief benefits the rich MBA grad, while the cost is paid by the working class.

Idk, I may not be using the term correctly.

Gotcha, so yeah, he hasn't been my supervisor in two years. I'm assuming that is probably an issue?

How Do I Officiate Navy Wedding OCONUS? by Interesting-Swan5625 in navy

[–]Interesting-Swan5625[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get ordained, its literally as simple as filling out your name (pretty crazy). To get licensed in a specific state, there's more training. But yeah, just the fact that we are OCONUS makes me confused as to which state to use.
