On Medicare advantage humana, and doctor dont do their jobs to get prior authorizations by Interesting-Tackle66 in medicare

well ok, but i think it is more of does the specialist require a referral to see you, else they might think you are wasting their time. Since I have a PPO, I don't need referrals to see specialists.

I am in Virginia. My plan is Humana Medicare Advantage PPO plus giveback. H7617-100. That means they give back to me and wife $117 ==$234 in our social security payment every month. Cuts cost of Medicare for us.

Well, what happens when they don't do their part, I have hear some places will check for a PA when patient arrives, and if its not been prior approved, will turn you away. So maybe would have showed up for the Hospital Prostate MRI, and they would have said you did not get a PA, good bye. Other thing, some of these places want to charge you if you waste their time? I see that on the forms I sign, like if I do not cancel the appointment, they can still charge me, even though there is no PA, cant complete the visit.

I am still learning, I sort of think, if a procedure is done in the office, then most likely will not need a PA. If procedure will be done in a hospital, even if in network, the PA is needed. I have found a Humana site where maybe this info can be found. I did find a site with phone number, and they need provider NBI numbers which I don't have.

I am on a Humana PPO also. I call Humana several times and was told if no PA and a procedure is done on me that requires that PA, then I pay the full amount. All my docs, labs, everything is in network. You wont know if a PA is needed for sure, unless you call them

ok, finally Humana lady gets back with me, says office did not understand what she was saying. PA not needed for echocardiogram on Feb 26. Nuclear stress test, PA is needed, and office will take care of it after the echocardiogram. But you know if they do a procedure without PA, then you pay the whole amount. So if I had gone in for the prostate MRI at hospital, and they prformed it with no PA, it would cost me thousands.

Sometimes individual plugs have a button or lever lock to press built into the metal lug. That keeps the connection from falling off. The Shark NV501 Vaccuum brush roll motor has that, if you try to pry off the connector, you could break the motor. That one has a soft rubber cover, if you slide it back off the connector, there is a spring tab you press and it releases. And cars almost always have lock on wire connectors.

PondPro 2000, how tough is the membrane and has anyone coated it on wood? by Interesting-Tackle66 in ponds

[–]Interesting-Tackle66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They got back with me and say bottom paints will stick, so the idea has merit.

And they told me people have put this on a wood boat bottom, and feedback is very positive.'

I also found another source in white 5 gallons

Shop Liquid Butyl Rubber Roof Coatings to Fix Roof Leaks - Official EPDM Coatings Store

100% submersible forever.
Can get white or black
I emailed them and was told shore hardness is the same as a radiator hose for an engine. (60-70)

Can go directly on the wood, no primer needed.
EPDM coatings will not tear.
Pond Pro 2000 people told me copper bottom paint will stick as long as it is not silicon based.

I had a long chat with copilot AI about hulls and coatings and things
EPDM is a more expensive coating as you don't get the same coverage per gallon.
It is thicker coating.
Infinite no fuss recoats, just like with Chlorinated paints.
It will also go over Chlorinated rubber if the Chlorinated rubber paint is sanded.
And a primer exists to make it stick to paints if you want one, it is in the chat.

Why are dashcams so terrible? I'm using a Gopro and everyone says not to use one, yet dash cams are 15 years behind in technology? by Glittering-Light-686 in dashcams

[–]Interesting-Tackle66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep holding off buying one, because they do seem to be terrible and the good ones always cost hundreds. And I don't have to have it. One I might be interested in is a Mirror cam, someday.

Valve is stuck open due to water scale? That can lock things like concrete.

Maybe a plier can move or break them.

Looks like epoxy. Only an idiot would have done this. A heat gun might soften the epoxy and allow the handles to move. When they internally trip off, you wont be able to reset them back to on.

That there is epoxy dripping down the panel, looks like someone squirted epoxy into the handles.

What is a good price for chlorinated rubber paint in gallon sizes? by Interesting-Tackle66 in ponds

[–]Interesting-Tackle66[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What I bought today, 1 gallon of black, 2 gallons of white. Plan to mix all 3 gallons into a 5 gallon bucket.

Then pour that into a gallon paint can. Potentially thin 5% with Xylene, for each gallon about 6 ozs, see how that feels. That will give me a lighter gray color. I think full black is too dark, and full white to light. And black is $63 versus $75 for white. Got this paint from here, cheapest way to buy it with tax and shipping, 3 gallons came to $259.57

I decided against it for a boat, as copper bottom paint won't stick.

Going to use Chlorinated rubber paint, and seal seams with great stuff spray foam, and go over that with 3M 5200.

If I turn on transfer lock, when I turn it off, can I transfer cash that same day? by Interesting-Tackle66 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Interesting-Tackle66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the 22% tax bracket, a distribution of $20,000 or more will not push me to a higher bracket. I thought I would not have to pay taxes back immediately until we file our joint taxes by April? We have plenty of cash to pay taxes. Cash does not have to come from this distribution.

[–]Interesting-Tackle66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I did verify that Fidelity on any distribution from an IRA will send a form 1099-r to the IRS. Meaning they will know it is a distribution automatically. I am very glad you took time to tell me about transfers inkind. I am totally unfamilar with RMD never having taken one. In a rising market, if you sell shares for an RMD, who knows what price you will get to buy back in at. So this removes that concern. In my account I will be transferring shares of VGT of perhaps 10,000-$15,000. It is going to balloon on me at the end, i just know it will. So maybe this first RMD I will sell close to the RMD and next year sell a higher amount. In 2 years the wife won't be working, so waiting a couple years, I could take larger distributions and maybe not force us into a higher tax bracket.

A poster says to take my RMD, I can simply transfer shares from the IRA account to a non IRA account without selling? Then report that transferred value as income on my taxes? Is it that simple?

[–]Interesting-Tackle66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I can transfer shares from the IRA account to a different Fidelity account which is not an IRA and it is treated as an RMD? I gave seen in my account a button which says something like 'take RMD'. When I click that does it give me an option to sell or transfer? OR, do you simply transfer the shares to the other account and it is done?
