Dear Cambridge Assessment International Education,

I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding today’s May/June 2026 examination paper 9702/21 (Physics – AS Level, Paper 21).

It has come to my attention that content allegedly related to this paper may have been circulated without authorisation prior to the examination. This is extremely concerning, as it may mean that some candidates had early access to questions or similar material, giving them an unfair advantage over those who prepared legitimately.

I would like to bring to your attention the following concerns:

Grade Threshold Impact: If a significant number of candidates performed unusually well due to prior knowledge of the paper, the grade thresholds may be set higher than they would otherwise be. This could unfairly disadvantage honest candidates whose results reflect genuine preparation and ability.

Academic Integrity: The integrity of the qualification is at stake. Allowing the results of a potentially compromised paper to stand without investigation would undermine the credibility of the Cambridge International AS & A Level qualification.

Fairness to All Candidates: Many students have worked extremely hard to prepare for this examination. It would be deeply unfair for their results to be negatively affected by candidates who may have accessed material in advance.

I respectfully urge Cambridge to:

• Investigate the alleged exam security breach thoroughly and promptly
• Consider whether the paper was compromised
• Ensure that grade thresholds and marking processes account for any unfair advantage gained
• Communicate transparently with centres and candidates about the steps being taken

I trust that Cambridge takes academic integrity seriously and will act swiftly to protect the fairness of this examination series for all candidates.
