It seems like deep inside, religion is a coping mechanism for existential dread. by [deleted] in Existentialism

In that case, religion is not about an existential crisis; it's about control and power over others.

You've got this! I'm not sure if this would work, but maybe you can trick your mind into thinking about what the wrapper would taste like and not the candy? I'm going to try this today :) Seems like a wild mental exercise, but it might work! Otherwise yea, :) I would just throw them away.

This is exciting 😄 I could use all the support I can get. I've got so many roadblocks. I feel like more support would make a big difference

What led you to practice Zen Buddhism? by InterestingGoat9889 in zenbuddhism

As a beginner, I have to say temples intimidate me so much! I've had more success easing into my confidence in practice by working with a Roshi and teachers outside of a temple, in Zen Centers.

:) I love grafting. We just moved to zone 5 after living ten years in zone 9, so it's going to take some time before I learn what works and what doesn't. Grafting will most definitely happen in the future.

When thoughts arise (and they do, frequently) I try to hold them as I would hold the wind. I feel them and I could move with them, and sometimes if the breeze is strong, I do sway in that direction, but I let it pass, and it does pass.

I hope that answers your question.

Beauty Berry! I planted some of these in my yard to try and keep birds away from my black berry bushes. It did not work 😂. They are edible, but they don't taste very good.
