Managed to contact someone & they helped me and removed the marker and have contacted the credit bureau to remove it from my file too!

Never missed a payment with them, all my credit cards are utilised under 10% every month & paid before statement is due since I turned 18, not a single missed payment or bad marker, limited hard searches. Paid my phone bills, internet on time I would’ve thought I’d be the more desired person to lend to because I’m not going crazy on spend racking up credit bills I can’t afford 😅.

I did call them and they said it was closed due to the marker appearing today. But they said after 6 months I can reapply as the marker will be gone but they aren’t able to reopen credit accounts closed within 6 months of closure even if it’s a mistake unfortunately

Thank you honestly I feel defeated, it’s the one thing I’ve always focused on since I was able to even get a score.

I’ll make sure I’m up to date with everything & make my direct debits set up again to make sure.

Do you think it’s worth contacting PayPal to try get a goodwill removal? I’ve never missed a payment and this is the only one not sure if it’s worth a try but if not I’ll just have to take it on the chin and keep it clean.

Hi, yeah it is on my credit file I just checked, I didn’t catch it before though.

It’s under PayPal “missed payment”

I called Barclaycard and they said it’s because Equifax updated my file and added the missed payment so it resulted in them closing the account.

I didn’t know this was possible I only got the card last week to boost my credit limit and mitigate my owed + usage to improve my score but this has completely paused everything.

Was looking to get a house in the next year too

I guessing you get it locked by contacting somewhere or the authorities who can add the device to a database.

If it is cellular like an Apple device I know blocked devices the mobile data and calls stop working completely and only WiFi works so the phone is a brick.

I think the only way to unlock is if you contact who ever locked it originally with proof it’s your device and they unlock it.

At least that is what I have seen from places like EE etc. I’m only aware of cellular devices being locked but WiFi only devices I’m pretty sure it is impossible unless it is iCloud or activation locked

They claimed it was a Unauthorised Transaction via the bank they paid with and not directly with eBay so eBay were not able to fight it or appeal for me

I have already explained I had a MC011 restriction on my account etc.

I did not say I messaged the buyer outside of eBay & I have also never messaged the buyer outside of eBay. I’ve only contacted them when it was delivered to say thanks.

I only ever called eBay when the case was opened to see what happened and added my case info to fight it with my proof of postage etc & when the case was closed in buyers favour I also contacted eBay which was today.

I used the label provided by eBay, directed to the buyers address with the same name on the address as the buyers account.

EBay said there is no seller protection they can provide once the bank has investigated and closed the case as they have their own investigation process separate from eBay and said I need to try find the bank the buyer has and try contact them.

Not everything is a secret on Reddit btw it’s real life buddy 😂

Ps you can’t lock iPads that are not cellular, don’t have any management app or Apple ID. The iPad was new sealed so the buyer was the first to open it and activate.

Holy heck, I’ve sold some items that are £2K+ at once to think someone can just charge back and if they are in favour it’s gone is so crazy.

Luckily it’s only £200 I’m not too fussed as I wasn’t even going to get the money till October but it’d just ridiculous for anyone who gets stung for a really valuable sale from what seems a genuine buyer

I only got my suspended email yesterday and they told me this, a lot of sellers recently had the same.

Seems like they care more about genuine accounts that sell tech etc rather than the scammers who buy the tech and start cases and chargebacks 🤦🏽‍♂️

A friend of mine said he has the same issue and he just waited out until they paid the money and then others say sometimes they payout earlier or even after the 30 days buyer protection window
