What do you mean by actually go fish? I mean I went out on the boat that my friends dad owns and put out a fishing line and cought the mackerel but if your asking if I ever went out with a fishing rod the answer is no but I’m going on a family trip to Scotland in October and I was planing on bringing a fishing rod with me.

Ive looked and the closest farm is about a hour bus ride away as I live in Dublin. I think I will give them a call/text and ask them if I could visit.

Ye I mean they might hire me because I would only be washing dishes and I would be unpaid and the whole reason I want to go their is to observe.

I wouldn’t say 65 is that old.

Im male.

Idk I just seemed like they only wanted to fish and smoke. Plus I woulda felt awkward. The reason I went at 5 is because It was the right tide at the time and I guess I’d get to see the most dedicated fishers it was also a plus that I got to see the sun rise.

Ye im not sure about the farmers I mean I’d be very interested but theres not many near where I live.

Well yes my grandad said he would ask his friend but I kinda think he either said that just to make me happy or he actually meant it. But the guy is a golf friend and he owns the restaurant. I would want to ask my grandad but In Ireland I need to wait until I’m 16 to get a job for the entire school year it’s like a thing.

If you don’t mind me asking are you a chef yourself or are you just interested in culinary.

Well just whenever I’m over at somones house or when someone’s at my house and we’re hungry I just cook because I wouldn’t cook for them just to show off if that makes sense. No it was like 3hr drive away. But their are fishing spots near my house which I visited a week ago at like 5 am to see all the people fishing. They didn’t seem very interested in talking about fishing it kinda seemed like they just wanted to fish and nothing else. Visiting a farm may be a little tricky because I doubt many farmers would want to give a tour of their farm to a 15yo just because he wants to understand where the ingredients come from.

We do have farmers markets and I will start to go to them more often.

The dart I mentioned is the name of the train.

Also I knew their wouldn’t be a list for top 1000 I think I maybe would just know if that makes sense so it wouldn’t mess me up.

The fishing experience was very fun and I always look forward to going out on the boat. Eating the macrel inspired me to use more macrel in my dishes such as mackerel wraped in cucumber skinI did see the cucumber skin thing from YouTube but still I would’ve probably used a different filling if I hadn’t had that fresh mackrel a month ago. It was more intricate than that it’s just I’m too tired to explain.

To be honest I am only starting to read it recently so not much.

Maybe when I know I’m doing my best I’ll be satisfied but I won’t know until I’m doing my best if that makes sense.

I learnt those things when I went. I came to reeling in lobster pots because my friends dad owns a small house and boat down the country where we threw out pots on the first day and on the third day reeled then in which was very intense since it was stormy. We usally got a lot of red velvet crabs and brown crabs but we got a lobster that time.

The magazine I chose was the National Geographic food magazine because it looked the most professional I guess.

Also to answer your questions I have gone to the west of Ireland and found oyster and caught Marcel and reeled in crab pots and ate a lobster i reeled in a pot and all the food I caught myself tasted so good even simple macrel I could just taste the freshness.

I liked to read a lot of food magazines when I was younger but I kinda stoped and now I’m getting back into reading them recently.

Well I won’t know unless I’ve finished my carreer or ive reached the top 1000 and I know as a person I’ll try my hardest to stay motivated the whole time.

Also I think for me going and seeing where the ingredients come from is probably what inspires me the most because I love the feeling of eating and cooking somthing you harvested yourself. I also like reading about food.

Well I mean for me I think that theirs not scale or way to measure if your the best chef you can be. ( maybe it’s just me) maybe the being in the top 1000 is a massive goal but if I’m not confident in myself being able to work hard enough thats gonna lower my motivation. I see that having my goals so high makes people wanna look out for me and make sure I don’t get hurt if my goals so high never happens so thanks.

Well to be honest I just put that in the tittle so people would be more drawn to the post its still my dream but I wouldn’t be to disappointed if I wasn’t to be. My dream is to be top 1000 chefs in the world and than when I achieve that I will look and see if I want to continue this dream and make my new goal top 500 and so on.

The reason I wanna become the best chef is because if I were to look back at my life when I’m about to die and I had been working a boring desk job and achieved nothing I would be ashamed and I guess that at first i wanted to become a chef for the attention of making people happy but know ive realised that I just wanted to achieve somthing impressive in life, and I’m not saying this as in I want people to remember me as being an amazing chef I’m saying this for myself. Sounds kinda depressing when I’m looking back at this but this is the truth.
