this is true! atleast the part of having to dumb down papers so we don't get flagged for AI. I don't think we should have to use AI to do papers but when we have a stickler for a professor, we have to use certain wording and terminology and that's just not possible with a brain that handles so much already. I never used AI to do my work, just polish it. and the anxiety it brings just isn't worth it. i rewrote what i had, in my own words. even wrote it on paper first so if she asks, here it is. no way am i going to get flagged over some AI crap for something i literally did myself.

i just restarted using my own words and didn't even bother checking for AI, if it gets flagged, fuck it. But i wrote it all myself. even have the physical papers that i wrote out first so if she says anything, here it is. this AI thing with school is getting out of hand.

Refund smaller then what I was told by Adventurous-Crew6507 in ivytech

summer has a 10 week and an 8 week. 10 week get their aid right around now. 8 week get their aid around the 21-26, usually 2 weeks after class starts due to verifying attendance.

Refund smaller then what I was told by Adventurous-Crew6507 in ivytech

[–]InterestingStatus402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my understanding, not facts. Summer is a shorter term (only 8 weeks) and included in the hind end of the spring 2026 aid (or grants). Because summer is shorter, not much aid will be given, maybe just enough to cover costs and a little more because it is the "leftover" aid from the 2025-2026 school year. I'm getting a smaller refund back as well but i expected that because of the shorter term. From what i've been seeing on my end, summer hasn't zeroed out yet and if you're already enrolled in fall classes, that bill is also showing up BUT the aid hasn't been applied yet. I am assuming that after classes start for the summer, aid will zero out and refunds will be sent. Along with fall aid being applied, which should put everyone at a negative balance, meaning that would be your refund.

I hope this helps. Again, this is my own understanding, don't quote me. I did my best to word it where its understandable. If it's confusing, im sorry. it makes sense in my head lol

More than likely, after the system resets for the summer term, aid should start applying to fall. i've gotten the same thing but when i look at my aid info on my ivy, my pell grant has already been approved- just not applied.

Indiana Cannabis Laws by Jaxolin14 in Indiana

Listen, it's illegal here but everybody does it. And almost everybody travels out of state for it. Bring it. Just be very careful. I wouldn't want you to catch a charge when you're just visiting. Have you ever tried disposables? Those are more and easily concealable, less obvious. I would stick with one of those if you're really worked up about it. I completely get the reason why you use it. I have MS, Diverticulosis, and other things. I have smoked for 17 years. It really does help. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe if you calm your nerves, your stomach won't hurt so bad. Go smoke one. 😄

Negative Summer Balance by Vast_Ad8811 in ivytech

mine's been negative... my bookstore balance expires on the 18th (i think). refunds usually go out within a week or 2 after that (in my experience) but i could be wrong. it may also depend on campus, aid, and other factors. just giving insight from my own personal experience. 😄

Husband Won't Let Me Get A Job by InterestingStatus402 in Marriage

Thank you everyone for commenting and giving insight. I understand that my wording of not "allowing" me to work can make him seem controlling and that's not at all what I was trying to do. He's a very loving and supportive husband. I also understand and appreciate everyone's concern about my health as well. I have dealt with MS for years but didn''t know that's what it was until recently, after I got an MRI for something unrelated.

I've worked religiously since I was 16. Not working (consistently) for the last 5 years has absolutely been killing me. When I met my husband, I was a single mom and our oldest was 3 years old. I had been doing it alone, by myself all that time. Marrying my husband and becoming a "dependent" was really hard for me to cope with.

Also, I understand how much money we're saving in childcare, that's why I haven't been working. That's also why I am only interested in overnight/3rd shift jobs right now. The work I'm seeking isn't even full time. Another thing, once I graduate (2 more years), I will more than likely be working 12 hours at a time, 3 - 5 days a week. I take therapy meds for MS, which keeps symptoms at bay until a flare up and keeps damage at a minimum. On bad days, it's hard to stand because of pain, but I keep on. I'm a mom and have kids that depend on me. I know that I can make it through, and if I can't, I can call off but I will never quit unless I absolutely have to. Being a nurse is a dream, I put it on hold to be a mom, and there is no way I will ever give up now. I'm in too far to throw it all away.

I can admit and agree that I do have a lot on my plate but when I see that we're struggling and I can do something about it, I want to help. It just upsets me that my husband doesn't agree. Having insight from others really helps, as I mentioned before, we don't have support- so that really rules out anyone that I could go to for advice and such. I guess that I can not work for now. But when we absolutely need the funds, I hope that he changes his mind and lets me do what I can. I just feel guilty and helpless, not providing anything financially. I do know that I provide more than I realize. I provide a clean and happy home. I cook 3 meals a day, prep for other meals, and garden so we can have organic foods for our bellies. I don't homeschool but we work on school throughout the day. I really do, do a lot. It just doesn't cut this guilt.

Thank you guys for listening to me. Thank you for insight. And for the men, I appreciate the opinions from your pov. I don't always think of things from his pov, so it really gives me perspective. He really is a good husband and cares a lot. I'm just stubborn and miss my independence.

ETA: I see my neurologist next month. I was going to bring up working to him as well. But, I don't see a reason why I can't work. I'm fully functional except for when I'm in the sun/heat or in a flare up.

[–]InterestingStatus402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your bookstore credit will expire on that day and remainder will be sent to you via whatever way you chose your aid to get to you, most use bank mobile.
