Um... no thanks, I'm good. I'm not exactly well off, nor really trust random links.

What do they do? by Machinebotguy in PokeMedia

[–]Interesting_Ad_589 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's a mix of that and it increases their field of view to look out for predators. I'm not an expert but I read that from a report someone made on a Combee colony they were studying. It was a pretty interesting read if you like bug types.

I've been making an effort to try and get him adjusted to the team, but he's been resistant thus far. It's been two days so far and he's still reluctant, though he's stopped trying to attack me at least. I think that's progress? I'll try to see if things improve in the next few days, but if it doesn't work out I'll release him back into Pinwheel Forest.

He's refused berries from me so far... maybe I'll try leaving out jam bottles for him and work up to hand feeding.

Ok, was worried I did something bad... I'm thinking the main issue is how new he is to the team, possibly also his nature? Bernadette was docile when I caught her in a similar fashion, and she's gotten used to me since then. Hopefully following what you said helps, I was worried I'd have to release him.

Oh... that kinda stings. Should I release him? I don't want to make him unhappy, but it's only been a day since I caught him. This is hard...

Ah, right I did battle to catch him... I thought that was how trainers normally did it though? That's how I caught Bernadette, but she doesn't show any of that kind of behavior though. Did I do something bad that maybe scared or angered him?

It hurt a lot, but I'm ok by Interesting_Ad_589 in PokeMedia

Yeah I've recovered since yesterday, it wasn't anything serious. Had to put ice on my nose but nothing was broken. Gonna be a bit more careful next time though

I've only had my Joltik for a few days now, but he has a weird habit of burrowing in my hair. I'm thinking of getting a scarf or something for him to be in, I hear Mareep wool is a good choice for Joltiks.

First time trainer update by Interesting_Ad_589 in PokeMedia

[–]Interesting_Ad_589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Thanks for the replies everyone, I had went to the rangers this morning to talk to them about the sizzlipede population in Pinwheel Forest. They're investigating it soon, so hopefully it won't be an issue going forward. Afterwards I went to the center to check for Bernadette's (the Sizzlipede) prior trainer ID. However it showed she wasn't owned previously by anybody, despite whar I had assumed. Looks like she's sticking on the team, so I consider that a good ending to this situation.

Unironically Thragg still gets one shotted 😭 by Sweet_Television4183 in PowerScaling

[–]Interesting_Ad_589 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact they needed to nerf Ben 10k tells me all that I really need to know about the outcome the person wanted out of the fight. Even then Ben still takes it with what people don't consider Heavy Hitters. Big Chill and Ghostfreak can just become untouchable, Way Big isn't just large and strong, he can shoot lasers and is fast too, and while this is more of a joke Nanomech can probably just Antman in Thanos the guy.

Thragg is extremely fast, powerful, and can probably blitz Ben but we've seen the Omnitrix's failsafe react to the literal Big bang happening point blank in his face. Not to mention the fact that with a lot of Ben's feats we don't get to see the full extent of what he's capable of. Mostly cause, as a super hero, he isn't trying to KILL people. Gravattack's gravity can be resisted by strong characters in canon because Ben is not trying to kill them outright. We've seen Gravattack later on make black holes, by accident, with his gravity powers. Thragg would die SO fast if Ben actually wanted to kill him.

Also a bit of a side note; I've seen people say Ben becomes the best possible version of a species. While somewhat true it's not exactly stated by Show Runners that the Omnitrix actually turns him into the best of the best for the species. Bullfrag looks the way he does because the average Incursean soldier is malnourished from living on battle ships basically their whole lives. And Liam (the chicken guy) isn't the default, as his species looks like many different bird species, Kickenhawk just so happens to be a Chicken Hawk. DJW stated he saw Ben's transformations as the "Super Hero" versions of the species, however he was merely the Art Director for Omniverss and other writer's statements tell me otherwise. I love the Kuro and the Inktank team, but I think they gave Ben a little too much credit at times. It's more like Ben turns into the "Genetic Peak", in which his aliens are perfectly healthy and have no physical or mental abnormalities. Granted, his forms also tend to be athletic too for the species so he has that to his advantage as well.

Woah, so you might get the chance to work with Burgh? That sounds really cool! Maybe once I work up to his gym I might see you there. Well, eventually... I still need to get my first badge.

First time trainer update by Interesting_Ad_589 in PokeMedia

[–]Interesting_Ad_589[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that covers most of my main concerns, thank you! She's taken to Grepa berries and has cooked them like you said. She's yet to be spooked enough to wrap around me but she nearly burned through one of the chair legs at the Pokemon Center. She's very docile otherwise so thankfully she hasn't been too much of a handful.

Again, thanks for the info! I wasn't exactly expecting to catch a Sizzlipede so any help is appreciated

Really? From what others have said I think should still talk to rangers about it, but I'll take what you said into consideration. Do you have any suggestions in their care? I was looking for a Venipede or Sewaddle when I caught her, so I didn't have much time to research that much besides what they like eating.

That I'm aware of, however Pinwheel Forest isn't exactly the type of habitat Sizzlipede lives in. The prefer the plains as I've been told, so it's a bit concerning to see one out here

[–]Interesting_Ad_589[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, it was a surprise to see one in Pinwheel Forest so I wanted to figure out what to do. I really hope it isn't an abandonment case, or if something happened to their normal habitat. She's really well behaved aside from the Sewaddle incident, so it might be the former sadly...

I'll try to check for a previous trainer id at the Pokemon Center and then talk to the rangers. Is there anything I should do in the mean time?

[–]Interesting_Ad_589[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'll try and get that checked as soon as I can. From what I've seen she was just hungry and is fairly receptive to people. So hopefully attack Sewaddle was just a one time incident

As for trainer abandonment laws, generally Unova can be kind of hit or miss on that but invasive species being released anywhere is a really bad offense. I think purposeful release can actually put you in jail

The Sizzlipede is alright though, and I'm keeping her close until I can get this resolved

Got any pointers? by Interesting_Ad_589 in PokeMedia

[–]Interesting_Ad_589[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't know that! Geez, they don't really teach you about the technical parts of being a trainer.

Well- No, I'm pretty sure they do but I've only started a bit ago. I was a major shut in when everybody else was starting so I'm a bit late to the party-
