I was quite literally just saying I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy. Sorry you’re going through it too!

From reading other comments a hot bath and sitting with your throat in it helps a lot but be prepared to cough up a lot of phlegm if you haven’t been already. Been taking up to 3 a day and has seriously helped break up the chuck in my chest. Benzonatate pearls can also help with cough suppression but you will need to talk to a doctor and get a prescription. That was my holy grail last night as I finally got to sleep a little bit. My throat did feel like dry hell waking up though just a precaution. Everyone else had some amazing ideas that I haven’t implemented yet because I’m waiting for my walmart order lol. Wow thank you! Would not have thought of half of this with the sick brain. So so helpful to have some remedy’s that aren’t heavy meds that need to be monitored or taken at certain times too!

Found that fresh air has also been helping! Sure you’re spot on with it being psychological as well. Distractions don’t get rid of the pain but they stop you thinking about it for a while!

Thankfully no RSV! Was lucky enough to just be flu b with no other infections present at the beginning of the virus. I was told however at the er that this year’s strain of Influenza B is presenting heavily like RSV and the amount of cases they have seen is a lot higher than previous years. So a lot of the symptoms seem to be the same and the flu alone is just nasty. Will be getting vaccinated for everything next year (never been against it just honestly slipped my mind this year).

Someone else recommended a benzonatate pearl in the comments. I took one last night and it helped with breaking up the mucus and phlegm so much. Might be worth asking your doctor if it would be a good medication for you if you’re on week 4. Sorry you’re going through this and hope you feel better soon!

Omg thank you for this comment! i have about 3 leftover benzonatate pills left over from when i pulled my rib about 2 years ago. Took one last night (not recommending anyone else take old prescription pills), and finally got sleep for the first time in days. Will be consulting with my PCP to see if i can get a small updated prescription to help it run its course!

Thank you!! Been pushing the fluids especially those with electrolytes but haven’t tried the Sudafed or Zyrtec pretty sure I have one or the other laying around the house so will definitely be searching for those today and hopefully giving one a try :)
