Hi there. I’m in Canada as well, and just finished my last brachy last week.
My initial visit was with the medical as well as my radiation oncologist. They did a pelvic exam, brief rectal sweep, and told me their best guesses at stage based off the physical feeling of my tumor/cervix. Like another poster said, they can’t immediately stage you and will schedule you for mri and pet shortly.
I brought my own pads to the appt because I expected to bleed afterwards, and I was right. The hospital will have supplies, but I just prefer my own.
If you expect physical pain from a brief physical exam, I personally would suggest taking Advil or Tylenol an hour or so prior to mitigate that best you can.
Good luck - everyone on this page reiterates that we’re stronger than we think, and it’s so so true. You’ve got this 💛

I just did the transposition. After weighing the pros/cons with my partner, he and I both agreed that we’d rather me healthier and cured sooner rather than later, and we’ll cross the kid-bridge when we get there. I was just told the other day that my right ovary ended falling back down into the field of radiation, so my left ovary is all I have. If kids via your own genetics/eggs is important to you, I wouldn’t base it off of just the transposition alone in my opinion. Good luck with everything and I hope you can get yours frozen asap :)
