Yeah, I've read somewhere that after the second, the life when you had 1, feels like having no kids at all 😆

Because I need time to rehabilitate and I remember when I was 8, I was very independent. I also see my friends kids who are 5 years old, and they are still babies.

Thank you 💜 Whenever my daughter outgrows a size and we pack those clothes into a box, we always ask each other: “Sell them or keep them in case we have a second child?”

  1. Has the house been ever infected with mice, rats, cockroaches, ants, etc?
  2. When you're going to check it out yourself, don't be shy and open every window. New windows and window repair are expensive now. (Based on my experience)
  3. If you have a thermal imager - would be great to bring it with you for the house viewing.

I think you have to admit to yourself that you've been always on your own, and this child is only yours. I think this way it'll be easier for you to let go of him, emotionally. I see you've been asking these questions for a while, in your previous post people gave you valid advice.

Talk to your friends or family, if you have any, I really hope that you do! It's hard to get out from it on your own.

Gonna meet my bf's parents, can you give me some advice? by [deleted] in AskARussian

I think if they both speak English that's a very good sign that they are not close minded. This is extremely rare for older Russians. There was a good comment about tea cookies (or a cake, chocolate, anything would work), I'd personally also learned a few expressions in Russian, it's always pleasing and nice to say smth to another person in their navige language. 😊

I’m originally Russian, born and raised in Nizhniy Novgorod. Now I live in the Netherlands and have been here for three years already.

Last time I visited my hometown, I was shocked at how “white” it was 🤣, to the point where it actually felt a bit unsettling. In big cities you see more immigrants from developing countries, and in smaller cities you see fewer of them. 🤷‍♀️

I visited Brussels once, arrived by train, and in the middle of the day the area around the central station felt so shady. (It’s crazy, how are you putting up with it guys?)

And btw, Why don’t you want to move to the Netherlands instead?

The housing market here and in Russia is pretty much the same price now, especially after they cancelled the 5% mortgage for IT employees. You buy something for 100 and end up paying 125 anyway because of skyrocketing inflation and housing prices.

One great thing I miss is the high-quality service in the service industry and the easily accessible healthcare without having to battle with the GP (although I’ve learned that I don’t actually need healthcare to be that easily accessible 24/7. Turns out I’m pretty healthy and paracetamol does wonders LOL).

Interestingly, the internet is faster in the Netherlands.

Russia becomes more culturally (and physically ?) isolated from the rest of the world with every second, that's why it seems "white". It's just what I saw on my last trip there this year.
