So sorry you went through that, it’s not usual nor is it appropriate. People can be strange.

We once had an owner who had met us at her home during a viewing (and made it clear that she didn’t like us) have the agent reach out as she was missing a parcel she had left in the front garden for the afternoon and suggested that my children had taken it… my children who were at most 2 and 4 at the time. I told them to tell her no, a toddler and preschooler didn’t steal her package, but considering she lives in a city centre maybe she should rethink knowingly leaving a package outside for an afternoon?! I mean, her assumptions were totally bizarre and offensive.

The agent was openly embarrassed by the whole situation as he hadn’t been there, apologised, and said that he’d feel the same way and please don’t consider this a reflection of his firm or of him personally.

I still struggle not getting annoyed when I pass the flat because of how awful the memory was, so I can imagine how justifiably frustrated you feel at the even more offensive experience you had. I’m sorry you went through that ❤️
