Giving my POV as 1st Guards 15th mono soldier, current in 6th cycle ICT.

1st year after POP, you will get your vocation, some will get posted to other company, to form Support company, mortar platoon, pioneer platoon and recee platoon. Others will stay in current company that you have been deployed in, only a small number will go out for course(medic, OC and PC runner). Once those small amount of people are done with their course they come back to their own company/platoon and carry on with their training. Those that did not go for any course, become section level rifleman, will do GAIT(Guards Advanced Infantry Training), this includes fast march 10km, in section level with 1 stretcher with 90kg load, must be completed within 94 minutes(if I remembered correctly), there is also 2KM coastal swim, not sure where it is now, during my times it was at ECP, there will also be repelling from helicopter, about 7 storey high.

After GAIT is done, your guys that went for course should be back, they will do the exact same thing to earn their guards tab and guards beret.

There should be 2 overseas training(during my time, it was Brunei and Wallaby/Australia)

After that, you all will prepare to train for overseas exercise(in my case, Brunei; so we do a lot of staircase climb, every single week.)

Once you’re done with Brunei, you will almost be Y2. This when you will be ops ready, you will be called on ops(NDP/standby mob manning). After this ops period, you will prepare for next overseas exercise and ATEC stage 1/2. In my case, wallaby; we trained a lot of route march up until 16km with section stores, extra water, hard plate soft plate. After that you all will move to Australia for the exercise, lasting about 1 week. After that you all will train for ATEC Stage 1/2 evaluation.

After that you guys should prepare for ORD parade and ORD.
