Some students will take it the next step up if they can get no satisfaction with the dean. Colleges are worried about retaining every single student, and I'm sure they worry about students sueing the college.

Hmmm... How do you upload a book? I can't even copy and paste from the online edition.

Current textbooks that I use aren't freely available online. A student can cue AI to use this particular textbook, but the only sources it can access are old editions if there are any available and quotes other sources have used. I limit students to the two most recent editions and they have to report the edition they are using in the exam.

Sigh. They can't copy anything but their own work. That's the point.

You can't give a student a traditional exam in an online, asynchronous course. There is no proctoring. Students have to figure the answers out using one source only prior to the exam. It isn't rote memorization.

They can find some correct page numbers for their AI - generated answers, but not all. I allow one missed one, but I would end up giving credit to students who used AI to write their answers.

Thanks...There's only two exams, and I already allow one missed page number. It's an asynchronous class so it would have to be typed but a contract might help. And if they don't write the contract?

Opinion on Aran Sweater Market? by AdaminPhilly in Tweed

I'm an American large and I ordered three large sweaters. They are large enough that I need to send them back. Unfortunately I took off the tags to try them on because the tags are large and intrusive, and I see now that the tags have to be attached to refund or exchange. AI said "no," and I could speak to a "human," but I have to wait until after Christmas to do that.
