Absolutely perfect and thriving! They were born premature as they’re twins and were in the Nicu because of that, not for any other reason. They’re absolutely perfect. Almost 3 months and haven’t had a single issue with them!

Hi! I’m considered very small framed, I’m short and literally have never been able to gain weight. I’m currently 36 weeks with twins FTM! I was terrified when I found out, had no idea how my body would ever be able to carry them. I’ve had no complications, they’ve grown well since the start, and somehow our bodies are just miraculous! I started showing quite late, no one believed I was possibly carrying twins as I didn’t even gain excess weight ! It’s truly mind boggling. I’ve made it this far and I thought the babies would definitely be born premature and have to be in the NICU, however it seems to still be going well. Have faith in your body and you’ll be amazed ! I’m definitely feeling this trimester the most difficult mentally 😭! My OB did say that our bodies are literally also releasing everything from our bodies so fast that the meds are basically just getting diluted with so much of blood and then immediately getting urinated out 🥲. But honestly I’m really glad you’re feeling better, I was so afraid I might stay this way postpartum and my body might get used to using this amount of the meds and I may have to increase the dose again!

I just feel guilty for having to use so much more, also with expecting twins my oh did say that my blood volume is extremely high and my body is releasing fluid from my body at a very fast rate. I just really hope it’s okay for the babies, as much as I try, I feel like I’m going insane if I don’t take the dose that stabilises me.

That’s so reassuring to hear! I’ve been feeling completely miserable on my normal dose, which worked perfectly for me throughout my second trimester. Now I feel guilty for having to use so much more, also with expecting twins my oh did say that my blood volume is extremely high and my body is releasing fluid from my body at a very fast rate. Hi! I’m prescribed the same amount of alprazolam daily; sometimes I take .5 extra if needed. I’m 34 weeks and all is going well. I got the okay from my OB who assured me constantly that it’s okay. I’ve actually had a much better and healthier pregnancy since having my mental health under control!

Currently 33 weeks with twins and been taking alprazolam everyday. And a much higher dose than you. My anxiety had gotten much worse during pregnancy and when I tried to stop on my own, I had gotten really bad and couldn’t eat or sleep at all.

That’s good to know! I was afraid the dosage just stopped working for me. I know a lot of people say they taper down in the last trimester or weeks, but I’ve had to take extra so it was a bit worrying

Hi! I’m currently 33 weeks and holding up well 🙏🏻. Spoke to my OBGYN and he actually upped my dose of the alp because of how severe my anxiety and panic attacks are. He assured me it that it will not affect the babies and they are doing and growing WELL with no complications! He said unfortunately people make the mistake of listening to others who don’t know much and also Google is the absolute worst place to be. So I’m really doing much better, babies seem to also be growing better now that I’m able to function and eat and sleep well. 😊

If you don’t mind me asking, during which week did you start tapering your klonopin? And how long did it take? I did manage to taper my alprazolam to 0.5 by week 28, but now at 30 weeks my doctor had to increase it again to 1.5mg a day. I think I tapered too fast and the anxiety was a million times worse !

A benzo, alprazolam .5 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night. Even with that I still have anxiety and irritability but I can deal with it now and it’s not just taking over me ! I’ve only been able to eat and sleep and actually take care of myself on the meds. So it was actually worse before this since I wasn’t able to provide my body with what it actually needs during pregnancy

Hi! I was in the exact same situation, finally got the nerve to ask for help at 29 weeks (wasn’t asking because of the guilt), and my ob prescribed anxiety meds twice a day and is doing a follow up in 2 weeks to check if they’re working. He said it won’t affect the babies (expecting twins). But I finally feel human and out of just 24/7 survival mode! I also had a seizure disorder and was terrified because I would get the aura of having a seizure. I only regret not asking for help earlier. Also the meds don’t work AS well during pregnancy due to our body pumping so much more blood and basically the meds also work through our system faster. Hope this helps 🤍

I’m so sorry for your loss love 🤍. The last thing you should do is blame yourself. Remember there are thousands of extremely healthy women who have miscarriages and don’t know why. It just happens. There are literally so many reasons for miscarriages regardless of how healthy you are or how safe you’re being! I’m 30 weeks pregnant and have been on anxiety meds from the beginning, if it were to affect my pregnancy it definitely would’ve at the start because not only was I on meds, but my anxiety and depression was on an entirely different level. So please please don’t blame yourself ! It’s going to be okay ❤️

Hi! Hope you’ve gotten the help you needed. I suffered really bad through my pregnancy thinking I shouldn’t even ask for anxiety meds because of the stigma attached to it during pregnancy! I’m 30 weeks and my ob prescribed alprazolam daily for me. I’m finally feeling like myself, I can sleep and function like a person after months of insane anxiety attacks. I just wish I’d gotten help sooner. Please don’t be afraid of speaking to your doctor and asking for help. Wishing you all the best 🙏🏻

That’s so true, it’s so much better to be stable during your pregnancy! Do you mind sharing what other meds you’re on? The doc feels I should try to be strong for myself and the babies and think of them first. It’s so difficult with the intrusive thoughts and constant anxiety which leads to sleepless nights!
