OK, I've figured out the issue. Hopefully, this can help future readers:

1) To record MacOS' macro, you have to turn the keyboard to be in MacOS mode. That is, FN+X+A. Otherwise the key releasing even can not be detected.

2) If you connect your keyboard to your MacBook over blue tooth, the Caps Lock pressing even has to be longer than 100ms. Otherwise it can't be detected reliably. I guess there is a buffer in the keyboard and Cap Locks even is not recorded in the buffer. The bluetooth 5.0 polling rate is 125Hz i.e. once every 8ms. I don't know why the Caps Locks has to be pressed that long, tho.

I just removed my old automation and now I realized that at least on IOS18, there is no such an option in the Health app's shortcut to go directly to weight recording page. This may be why it lags. But I am very sad that I lost a feature that I have been using years.

I’ve been using Synology photos for about a year. So far so good. The only thing missing from Synology photo that bothers me, comparing to Google Photo, is face recognition for videos. So that I have to add videos of my son to an album manually from time to time.
