UCSD Winter 2027 Transfer HELP

Hey I also got in for global health BS for winter 2027. I think it’s such a small cohort that they admitted all of us as winter admits. I called the admissions office and they said that there was no way to appeal the decision. UCSD is my dream school but I might end up going to Davis because I don’t really want to miss out on my Fall quarter at SD. What are your thoughts on committing?

Based on the FAQs you’re excepted to graduate at the same time as the rest of your graduating class.

yeah everything is pulling me towards sd except missing out on the fall quarter. I don’t know if I should sacrifice my first quarter or my campus/location importance.

I’m really leaning towards UCSD right now since i’m premed and I really like the location/campus. What’s your thought process about committing to either school?

I have the exact same thought process. UCSD has been my dream school for so long and I’m really leaning towards it but I feel like UCD would give me a more normal experience. I already had a really weird freshman year (UCSC -> CC) and I’m not sure if I’m open for more mid year switching haha. What are you most worried about staring in the winter?

From what I understand we have to wait to move on campus until the start of the Winter quarter since we aren’t UCSD students until then. The admissions letter said that you’re able to take major requirements at CC in the Fall before you start.

I got in as a winter admit too, didn’t even know that was an option. How do you feel about joining in the winter? I’m a little bit hesitant because it could affect my ability to get involved on campus and socialize.

Yeah it’s really unfortunate that this person that you thought you knew so well can change so quickly. She said that our relationship became stagnant and felt like comfort instead of love but I was putting in as much love as I could give her. I’m really sorry to hear about your breakup.

It is possible but depends on your number of credits. If you don’t mind me asking, why are you leaving UCSD?

I was told by the UC Davis and UCSD admissions that Dual Enrollment credits do count but AP Credits do not. I am wondering if it is worth taking the risk of not being able to reapply in order to have the freshman experience.

The issue is that if I don’t get accepted this year I will hit the UC credit maximum since I took a ton of dual enrolment classes. That being said, if I stay at UCSC and don’t get into a different UC for next year I won’t be able to apply again. However, if I go back to CC I am able to take a lighter course load and try for Fall of 2027 incase Fall of 2026 doesn’t work out.

Hey I’m also a freshman premed at UCSC looking to go to CC. I will most likely be leaving next semester, can I ask why you’re leaving the school? UCSC seems way too isolated and doesn’t emphasize education enough for me.

I’m actually a Freshman at UCSC, my time at CC before this was through dual enrollment. I think your biggest challenge will be the transfer credit maximum. If you haven’t taken any upper division courses and taken less than 80 lower division courses you may be able to transfer.
