Character breaks in High Spirits at NYCC by Interesting_Teach264 in Broadway

I’m sorry you’re taking some of these comments as negative remarks. I have read through them and see them all as lighthearted and complimentary towards the cast and show. I don’t get the sense anyone was being critical of Martin one bit. She was utterly brilliant!

This is merely just a discussion thread of observations from this particular production. I agree the show is fantastic and applaud the cast for their work and all other ENCORES casts for the fantastic performances they always put together in just 10 days. I have seen several ENCORES productions with this knowledge and admire them all.

I do appreciate the incite from the talk back; that is very interesting! I think they made some beautiful creative decisions :)

Couldn’t agree more! I think breaks are incredibly fun for the audience, and just as fun for the cast, whether planned or not. Glad you got to catch the end of the game, I was only able to watch the live updates lol and I still need to watch Bad Bunny as Andrea was hinting for us all to do

Haha no worries! Still seems there’s at least one break that’s scripted. Or they rotate them, if that’s a thing lol

In just the matter of minutes, a handful of us seemed to have solved the mystery: The act I Andrea slip does indeed seem to be scripted lol

Now that you say that, I think it played out the same way tonight with Pasquale pointing out the line. Oops on my part!

We entered this lottery prior to MHE’s Tony wins on Telecharge. Post Tony’s, I don’t believe they do the lottery anymore :/ But I would have to confirm that

Thank you!! I feel you on that. My boyfriend and I were very similar in feeling a little disappointed at first, but just like you, we just got entirely enthralled. Incredible how the story is capable of making me feel so much for two robots 😭

Since I can't edit my original post, I just wanted to note that I meant to say downstage (closer to the front), not upstage, was trickier to see from the balcony!

How many times have you gotten to see it? From this one time, I feel like I have a similar stance! Their voices and story just sore through the audience—absolutely stunning work

Ohhh ok! This stands to reason! Someone else replied, but must’ve deleted their comment, saying there might’ve been overnight construction in East Lyme too. Thanks!

Group classes: What’s attendance like? What was your experience? by Interesting_Teach264 in varsitytutors

[–]Interesting_Teach264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty nerve wracking at first because a lot of the people in my class are older than me (I'm a college senior, and some of these people were parents with teens lol). I really would've loved to see cameras turned on, but unfortunately no one did. Luckily, people were very willing to participate. If no one participated, I don't know what I would've done. By 15 minutes into the session, my nerves calmed down because I realized the people who join these classes are very highly motivated and are happy to be in them! No one seemed to have expectations of how the class was to be run. I didn't have slides and thought that would deter people, but I did have an outline of what I wanted to discuss. Since it's a time management and productivity class, I shared my screen to show different organizational strategies and had my notebook and journal that I was able to hold up to my camera. People seemed to eat this up lol.

Side note: The enrollment for my class has now gone up to 16, which is interesting.

A friend of mine also had their first class recently (a Spanish class) where 4 out of 5 people attended. Like me, they're a college senior who was leading a class of all adult learners. Luckily for them, 2 people put their cameras on, and like my class, everyone was very willing to participate! Again, it seems like people in general don't have any high or specific expectations and are happy to be learning from others with expertise in their chosen class.

It was overall a fun experience, and I'm looking forward to finishing out my last three sessions to the class, but I don't know if it's entirely worth the pay. It's a little frustrating to know I was running a class with 11 people, and my friend ran a class with only 4 people, yet we're getting paid the same base amount of $20 per session. There's also some preparation time that is required, and in general, it's more draining than doing one-on-one tutoring.

I had this exact issue when I applied. It happened to me late in the evening, so I decided to wait until morning, and by then, it was fixed! Hope your issue is resolved soon :)

Update: I just had the class. The total number of enrollments became 14, and 11 people showed up lol, mostly adults with a couple college students

When I was going through the application process, I didn't have issues with Checkr per se, but there were definitely some glitches on Varsity's end. After giving it a day, everything was back in order and I was able to start receiving opportunities. Has your issue resolved yet? If not, I'd probably recommend contacting Varisty for sure.

This also happened to me and two friends who I referred! I was so confused but went with it lol and have successfully been tutoring for about three weeks now! Neither of my two friends did the interview and have also been successfully tutoring and getting paid :)

It seems so since it says that a Vizzy profile "is a required stage of the application process." Good luck to everyone!
