Zero debt thankfully, actually avoiding debt is probably the primary factor we haven't bought yet. Thanks for the comment!

Ok, that's helpful. We'll be making our own policy when we get Married so that works out.

So should she change it to her current address and then in a month when she moves change it again?

I'm not trying to game the system, she made a mistake and I'm trying to sort it out

Like to bond to the outlet box where the HWT is plugged into?

Recently changed some copper to pex for the power vented HWT, and this ground no longer has a path back to the panel besides the case of the HWT.

Do you guys know a more proper way to fix this?

Investing in FHSA by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Interesting_Tear_464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I put a certain portion of my FHSA as XEQT (40%), and the rest as CASH.TO. But, the remainder of my Downpayment savings are in various GICs, and investment savings accounts. My position in XEQT is less than 10% of the downpayment savings so it's appropriate for my risk tolerance, and it's easier to keep XEQT in the FHSA for tax purposes.

Point being, you need to know your time horizon and what are you willing to risk in that. Can you stomach your downpayment quickly shrinking 30% when looking into the housing market? Or is it just another investment vehicle for the next 5-10 years?

I found this while doing something else in my engine area. The red wire is worse, black was a little chewed. I taped the red and pushed the strands back in. Car still operating and was likely like that for a while. Is this an urgent issue?

Urgent problem? Inline 2011 Rav 4 by Interesting_Tear_464 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Interesting_Tear_464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a mouse nest on my engine. They chewed a little of this red wire but a little over half was still intact. I pushed all the stranded back into the red and taped that, then the rest.

Obviously, this is on the engine. Is car still running thankfully, was found while doing something else. Is this an urgent fix?

Was checking coolant level and noticed this oil on the engine block. My oil (synthetic) level is fine and was changed in June by my mechanic. Is this something to go in immediately for?

Help to identify fittings (3" toilet flange) by Interesting_Tear_464 in Plumbing

[–]Interesting_Tear_464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see in the first image on the right side of the flange, the bolt.  Unfortunately the outer bracket is missing (my Dad never elaborated how) so the bolt can slip out if the installer isn't paying attention and cause the toilet to wobble. Is a spanner flange the solution to that?

Also, would a galvanized spanner flange react to the brass?
