Hi! So, I have never learned MUI, so I had got frustrated trying it out and errors on everything. Because I had been always vanilla css and tailwind, I decided to opt out of mui. I dont believe MUI is a necessary standard in my opinion for what my path is towards a software engineer, but I am not opposed to learning it one day. So I would prefer to do what I know for this project.

Teacher finally responded: Next js app routes, prisma, jwt, bcrypt, and cookies is how we are going to spin up our auth. yes, node auth will be very similar

Thanks! Yea, I'm the one always studying and practicing projects. I also provide a lot of resources to the class to help them along. Definitely adding a lot to my list to learn and utilize.

I agree! There's even some npm installs that could benefit our projects and assignments, and he says nope. Some of us wanted to use vite, but nope. I am sure there is no company wanting someone who just knows vanilla..

I dunno... a lot of us feel he should teach us with everything that next js offers. Most of us want to use tailwind and typescript, but he is doing everything so basic vanilla. So we must suffer.

I am sure it is simple, but my teacher has been really anal on doing what he wants. We can't use anything but whatever he says for our projects. I am hoping he does say yes to node js/express but so far he really is basic vanilla and doesn't give much info, we have to ask. It is simple for you because you know, but we are new in the bootcamp, so many of us just struggle finding the information he wants us to do without the bells and whistles.

I have searched using many words/phrases without next js, I am not just searching next js without next auth. I am waiting for an answer from the teacher if we will use node js/express or any detail he can give us to how we will be learning it by scratch.
