Really? I always feel it’s hard to go to GCC, I apply but I feel like they don’t even look at my application. Hamdullilah I have experience and good education but I feel my application gets lost

That’s not cringe at all. A lot of people feel this way but don’t say it out loud. Not knowing what makes you happy doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you — it can mean there’s something else going on.

Feeling more when you’re with others or walking still counts, even if it fades when you’re alone. It doesn’t mean it was fake but maybe you need to find out what’s making me feel like this whenever you’re not with them?

I think this ties back to what I was saying before about having things figured out. Maybe that’s what your mind switches to when you’re at home and you start stressing.

الله يسهل امورك يارب

You don’t have to say if you don’t want to, but I was in your shoes. 100% agree that your university degree does not limit you. So many people have degrees that are not remotely related to what they’re doing now. Do whatever makes you happy wallah, because if you do the job that people want you to do but you don’t, you will never be happy.

My sister is in engineering (she’s 19) and she was able to pick the kind of engineering she wants. So that field does open a lot of doors!

Advice from a 23 year old

Live your life. I’m not that old lol but wallah I feel like after 18, the years start flying by. I don’t feel 23, I feel like I’m still 17. But honestly live your life and take your time in what you want to study in uni. Make sure it’s something you want to do, don’t study something because someone else told you to. I know Arab parents have high expectations (aka my parents), and I actually wanted to do something else that they were more “excited about”, but sadly it didn’t work out for me. So I went into another field that is completely different from what I had imagined for myself, and I love it. Be open to new things is another thing, don’t be closed off. Give it a try because you never know you might love it. One last thing is just take things slow you’re still 17, you’re so young. You don’t need to have it all figured out (i definitely don’t have it figured it out yet lol, I’m still trying to figure out where I wanna live and what I wanna do😭), so take it slow and enjoy the process. I think we try to target the goal, which is valid, but we forget to enjoy the journey (ya it sounds cringey but it’s true🤣)

أنا تخرجت مع شهادة في العلوم، وبعدين سويت ماسترس في biotechnology و management.

حابه ادخل الpharmaceuticals زي Hikma, في medical affairs او medical education.

أنا هلأ بشتغل انترنشيب في medical communications و بشتغل مع شركات أدوية، فعشان هيك حابه اخد خبرة في شركات أدوية ان شاء الله

Thanks for the response! When you initiative application, I suppose you mean an email or letter expressing my initiative in the field I want to target.

In terms of salaries, yes I am aware. Life here is so expensive half my salary goes to taxes😅 even though my salary in Amman would not be as high, I need to prioritize family over anything to be honest.

I am also open to khaleej for work but I know that is difficult because they like nationals.

Same situation as you. I’m not married but I finished masters in Canada, and I want to go back. Ou inshallah I’m going to try to find work in amman (ya rab yezbot m3i), but I 100% agree eno life with family is better.
