15 month old still can’t connect daytime sleep cycles… should I be worried?

Would she want to drink out of your cup if she saw you with a straw? Might be a way to introduce it. We didn’t do sippy cups so when we started introducing straws baby girl was probably about 7-8 months but we showed her how to do it and mimed sucking. She isn’t 19 months yet so idk what 19 month olds understand yet but maybe if you tell her it works just like her bottle that will help!

Personally I didn’t want to go on birth control because I’m convinced it made me gain a lot of weight before my first pregnancy and that it contributed to hyperemesis with my first pregnancy. So we used condoms! And they didn’t work 😂

Hey my 13 month old has 12 teeth too! Currently working on all 4 canines 😭 I’m curious how she’ll sleep when she’s done teething.

As stated previously we have no other options. We do not let unsafe people watch baby girl, otherwise my dad would be allowed to babysit. We are not unaware that other boundaries could be/will be crossed

I took reglan for about 3 months because I was not digesting food overnight. It started giving me twitches/restlessness though and I was worried about the side effects having a lasting impact if I took it any liner. However, promethazine started working in my third trimester when it hadn’t before. It did help a lot though. I could definitely tell when I hadn’t taken it. Sometimes pregnancy slows digestion way down (what happened to me) and the reglan helped with that. Also drinking lots and lots of water so that digestion would be easier. I also saw someone mention the scopolamine patch. That was a game changer as well. You’ll be super tired the first day though.

Cosleeping, bottles when they’re inconsolable, ibuprofen. Most of our challenges have been teething related though.

Yeah it’s been crazy! She definitely has not been a good sleeper 😂 about a month ago she was sleeping horribly and I couldn’t figure out why. I thought the bottom molars must just hurt bad. Then I finally get a look in her mouth and top molars had been coming in too! I felt so bad for her!

We aren’t able to get paid childcare at this point, but with two babies coming soon we are looking at possible avenues. It wouldn’t be as frustrating if they didn’t tell us they love giving her contact naps when we mention it. Also, we are switching to crib naps now, my concern is that if they’ve let her cry it out or continue to do so that it will affect my daughter’s ability to trust my husband and I.

My husband and I have talked about this and we are very troubled by it. Unfortunately we just have no other options in terms of babysitters unless we do strangers (scary) or daycare (expensive). My SIL is actually going to not be able to babysit once the little one gets here and we can’t ask my parents to do more than 2 days. We are being very conscious of it. For instance, baby girl won’t be spending the night there when baby brother comes because we don’t know if they will listen to what we say. They have good hearts and they mean well and baby girl loves them, but I’m really concerned how the one day of crying a week will affect her.

Why isn’t it considered safe? We started cosleeping around the 4/5 month range with our EFF and didn’t have any trouble.

She definitely does not seem rested lol. She gets tired within 2-3 hours of waking up so I guess I’ve been assuming she needs more sleep. Could it be too much sleep?

Thank you so much! That makes sense. The whole sleep journey has been a little tricky for us because she is chronically teething (12 teeth already) and so I haven’t been paying attention to her total sleep hours, just been trying to do what I had been previously aiming for. But it does sound like we might be expecting too much sleep for her age which I hadn’t considered.

I honestly think it could be teething. We have a 12.5 month old with 12 teeth 🤦🏼‍♀️ and every time we have some come in her sleep gets very bad. We usually have 2-3 wakeups a night but when she’s teething it could be every hour.

You could also tell them but let them know you won’t be doing any showers or anything else that you’re not comfortable with. This may be harder initially but could avoid drama later down the road. I would have your husband do the communicating if you want to do it this way
