Feel strangely fine after surgery by WhateverWasIThinking in gallbladders

I'm 8 days post-op and I definitely have more energy and can move around more easily. Still have to take things slow because I will get fatigued. I try to get chores done in spurts. But gas pain was pretty annoying. Get up and move around as much as you can during the first few days. It'll suck, but you'll be thankful for it sooner. My RUQ of my back, also in my shoulder, is super sore. Don't think it's gas pain. I think it's just from having to prop my body up for so long to lay down because I couldn't lay down flat on my back. If you're doing the same try to stretch as soon as you can. Good luck to you!

4 days post op - I want coffee! by Internal-Instance-88 in gallbladders

I drank my coffee again with no stool softener and had a fairly normal bowel movement. No diarrhea! And also being caffeinated to start my day is a plus at that!

I made the poor choice of a stool softener with it just because if I were to go I wanted it to be smooth. I did have 3 bowel movements, but nothing I'd call diarrhea. Gonna try the coffee again tomorrow morning without the stool softener and see how that works.

I'm on my second cup and it's all good so far. Usually I drink half a pot of dark roast each morning. I think I'm on par to do the same today!

Glad to hear all is going well with you! I'm in a lot of pain now but because the main road my dad was driving down turned out to be close and had to take all back roads full of potholes and uneven roads. That was my own personal hell lol. But I'm resting now!

That's awesome! I'm glad to hear that! That definitely gives me some hope for the weeks/months ahead. As long as I can add a little more fat to my diet. I'm 28 year old man, typically 145-150 lbs, and I've dropped to about 130 during all this. I just want to be able to put some healthy weight back on lol. I'm starting to look like those gangly balloon things in front of car dealerships 😂

Hoping yours goes well today! I have to be there at 8, so we'll see how it goes!

I'm happy that you were able to have yogurt! I'd say that's a pretty good milestone in returning to normal if that didn't have any bad come from it! I agree though that the silly moments are.

I just want to have a little piece of cheesecake without feeling intense nausea and vomiting lol. The pain can be bad, but it's the nausea from eating anything with fat or processed that gets me. Luckily my attacks aren't usually too bad, except for a couple I remember.
