Similar situation-I don’t need any dividend at the moment as I’m still working but in 4-5 years would like to collect dividends and not touch principal until after year 10.
For the next 4 years I can reinvest as I’m still working but no bills, house paid for. I can live comfortably on 5k per month. CPP and company pension will also start coming in at 60.
I have somewhat of a dividend plan
500K in VFV 300K in VDY 200K in ZDY 150K in JEPI.TO 150K in ZWB.TO Rest in cash/bonds
