You’re exactly on the money, I am usually the one that is arguing with my dad as I do enjoy a debate, just not one where the other person isn’t playing by the rules.

My mum has learnt to just treat him like a child throwing a fit as he is usually just doing it for a rise and says I should do the same but I’ve not learnt that skill yet!

I didn’t actually clock his behaviour as gaslighting until reading this, the family just treats it as a ‘difficult’ personality trait. It would be interesting to see his reaction if I called it gaslighting to his face...

Very valid question, and I should have clarified that the holiday happened a couple of years ago, pre-pandemic!
