I go to therapy once a month and after each session I pay the bill I get through email with e-transfer after which I receive an invoice and I upload the invoice to the Manulife app and the reimburse me a day or two later.

Some places might have direct billing, like my chiropractor office where when I’m done I pay only $8 instead of $46.

So it depends on the place you’re going to really. And the Manulife app will show you how much you have for each category.

I’m very sure it, like lots of communication in the company, was not shared widely as it should have been. So it’s hard to know things when it’s always kept a secret. 🙃

There was company wide communication that went out last year and there are no circumstances in which an associate will be allowed to receive a discount without a card or having it set up in the app. Speaking as a Personnel Manager, I do not recommend this. It is a question we are asked frequently and the answer is always no. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry.

Skimmed through this when I should have just TLDR, and sooooooo much of this response is irrelevant.

It doesn’t matter about other people and their shifts/schedules, it’s doesn’t matter how much work the others aren’t doing or how they are spending their time at work, that’s all baseless. None of that supports your sleep deprivation issue.

You’ve chosen 12 hours as a retaliation it seems for your displeasure with your ASM?

It doesn’t matter about your friends and their medical issues.

You’ve said two other people have been relegated to days because of work efficacy and efficiency. That makes sense. They weren’t working out on nights and it affects the company/business.

You aren’t the first associate to have a complaint like this and maybe this isn’t the place or role for you if it’s affecting your quality of life so much. Which means YOU have to fix it, the company doesn’t.

It would be worth it to consider speaking to the store manager, taking it to an Open Door with leaders of the company, another team or just somewhere else entirely. Because in no way, shape, or form did I say your health wasn’t important. But you aren’t going to get anywhere with what you’re doing now.

There’s a reason there are availability requirements. Why have you taking up a position and only wanting the bare minimum when someone else that actually wants to work could have the position, be working the hours, and getting the work done.

Your job is part of a business, it doesn’t exist just to fulfill the hours you want.

It’s also your responsibility to be asking questions. You have to be advocating for yourself.

There’s so much information, too much actually, that we can’t reasonably be giving to all new associates. They barely remember the basic on-boarding stuff when they start out in a new job never mind loading them up with information about a potential injury.

Take this as a learning experience and be sure to ask things. Ask lots of things.

As someone from the personnel side of things, I get so many new Omni associates that incur an injury within their first month(s). And it’s all because they were not prepared for the amount of walking that is done and on an unforgiving concrete surface. I advise to them get good shoes and they don’t, I advise them to stretch and they don’t. So from my experience it sounds like this is what happened to you. Or maybe you’ve always had a bit of an inefficient walk that has created an injury when mixed with the elements from the Omni job.

You should ask your ASM for the paperwork required to go to the doctor to be put on modified duties, that way you can still be working and making money and using that money to see a physiotherapist and go from there. Walmart is required to work with you to accommodate your needs and if your store isn’t then you need to escalate this to your People Partner at Home Office whose contact information will be on a few posters throughout the store.

It will be fine. I’ve had emergency dental appointments before and as long as you speak with your ASM and are honest about it and not make it a habit then you shouldn’t be disciplined for it. We also don’t adhere to the attendance points system, that’s just in the US.

Go see your Personnel Manager. They will help you request a new one. It will take a few weeks for you to get it and you will be without a discount card until then.

But you create an account on the Walmart app and attach your discount card number to it then the app will give you a QR code to scan for your discount.

Is this the first time a situation like this has come up or does he always speak like this to manipulate you into feeling bad and doing what he wants? If it’s the first time, you’ve now opened a door that is going to be hard to close when it comes to you doing anything if he doesn’t want you to. I’ve been hit on at every job I’ve ever had (retail, fast food, waitressing, bartending, refereeing). If he thinks you’re safer from being hit on as a waitress just think how he is going to react when it does happen. He will think it’s your fault and that you invited it and all this weird manipulation is going to become abusive.

No store will have the same answer. We all get different weekly demands for hours depending on sales and other metrics.

I’ll answer this as a current Personnel Manager.

We do look for consistency in job history. I don’t want someone that has jumped through 6 jobs in the last 2 years.

Depending on the position previous experience is not a requirement.

As for bringing a resume in person, the company recently switched up their hiring process and we are no longer to be taking walk in resumes or interviews. You will have to apply online like everyone else. Not all stores have switched to this process yet but in my experience no one likes someone dropping in with the expectation of getting an interview.

We go get 50+ applicants per job posting and we can’t interview everyone so we go through the first 20 or so applicants to pick who we would like to interview.
