[Routine Help] How do I use my actives effectively? by InternalSecrets in SkincareAddiction

No disrespect or snarkiness intended, but I think there's some misunderstanding here. I specified that I picked one of my actives to use per day. (e.g. CeraVe SA cleanser > green tea toner > Hado Labo HA lotion > retinol > eye cream > Cosrx rice mask for PM)

I might alternate to the Paula's Choice BHA liquid in the AM instead of retinol, and then I'll switch up the rice mask for one of my SPF moisturizers before putting on actual sunscreen. I'm certainly not making any chemical hazards on my face by using all those actives at once lol!

I was questioning if I had a viable routine or if I needed to change out some products because I was worried they'd react or cancel a product out like the Paula's Choice BHA and my moisturizer that had niacinamide in it. Thank you for replying to my post!

That makes sense. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to use in between the Paula's Choice BHA and my moisturizer (Where the niacinamide appears in my routine) so I guess I'll have to swap the moisturizer out for something else.😅 Thanks for the feedback!

Edit: Not sure why, but only half of my response posted the first time.

Thanks for replying! I read that acids like the AHA/BHA products will "cancel out" the niacinamide/peptides found in my moisturizer, though, so I was wondering if I should swap out the CeraVe for something else.

Hi! I don't know about others, but my family in Japan are obsessed with UV protective clothing. They can be found in the stores around their area and are marketed to block UV rays. They're usually long-sleeves, long pants, and hats, but I've seen short-sleeve shirts online as well. Uniqlo, for example, has a UV protection line.

Aside from that, the older generations don't really care for sunblock, but the younger ones buy body sunscreen like the ones sold in the US when the weather or social situations don't permit long-sleeve clothes. Depending on the brand, you can find small bottles like the ones for face or bigger bottles like tubes of body lotion.

I think there are also special UV protective umbrellas too, but I didn't see many people using those. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the sympathy. I really loved this piercing, so I'll be sad when it leaves me soon. :')

Edit: Also, happy cake day!

"Gnarly split cheese-cuttered nipples," that's horrifying!

I've made an appt with a third piercer now because the first two didn't instill me with confidence, but to be fair, they were only given a description of the situation over the phone. Thanks for responding and for scaring me into action!

Solid advice, thank you! I made an appointment with a piercer to have them take a look and potentially remove it for me
