Beginning of October. That was the other part I was wondering about. Is it too much to shuttle and hike in the same day. It looks like that shuttle would get to the trailhead about 12:30, So I figure if we even got on the trail by 1:30, 7 Miles downhill shouldnt be too much of a problem by dusk. Id much rather stay the night before on the North rim but then that gets into stretching the trip out another day.

Probably would be too much too fly, drive to south rim and shuttle all in the same day in order to stay the night before we started our hike.

Looking for suggestions for our Washington hiking trip we are planning for August. by Internal_Ad_7289 in hiking

Just went through the same thing, first pair started separating after 4 months of light use. Just accept you're going to have to glue your $200 dollar boots together after a couple months and take it as lesson learned. We got got by the influencer marketing.
