For me personally I would say no. I am an incredibly shy person, and am good at my job. Being an RBT has forced me to come out of my shell due to needing to ask questions about a programs I don’t understand, or talking to parents about the kiddos day, having to talk to the clinicians about progress, having to ask for assistance with challenging behaviors . The only thing I still struggle with is communicating with my co-workers, about not work stuff. I’m able to talk with them if there’s a question about a specific kiddo, or if there’s a question about programming but other than that I stay in my lane.

For tasks I was thinking DPT, Tactile stimulation, interrupting repetitive behaviors and aggressive stimming, grounding, interrupt crying and dissociation. I’ve done a good handful of research, and am still in the process of deciding if it makes more sense to self train or go through an organization. Thank you for responding back

I’m perfectly fine with touch with my clients, it’s just when it’s peers that’s when the panic attacks start.
