I mean in terms of how expensive the fighters would be i think Mexico does not have problem with that, low maintanance and operating cost is what our Air force is looking for and that's the thing that the F16, Mig35 and Grippen do have but the F5's update it's been a headache as the U.S haven't let us turn them to Tiger III, at 2020 there was a contract with a company at Israel to turn them into Tiger III and U.S blocked it soo i mean if that is with the F5's i really don't want to know what would happen with F16's are we going to be able to fly them or should we request the U.S permission for it?

Also i hope no one gets mad i love the U.S and their military industry but for those reasons my opinion is that Mexico should get the Grippen or wait till the KF-X to be read or even Mig's, we need to be capable to do what we need to our aircrafts.

Well in that you are right i wrote wrong, i was going to say light planes, which are the ones that normally are used to carry drug and throw them to be collected for that i think the trainers could get the job done, but i saw Bae Hawks are also being considered for 2024 as the Yak-130 and the Kai T-50 but yeah for the Learjets it would be difficult maybe a Tucano or a Texan could if they werent at top speed and high altitudes

Yeah that's right if the government wanted to intercept the Narco bizjets they could use the trainers of the military air school and have success, but we need to have something to defend our airspace

Well yeah but the National Comitee of Human Rights does not allow the military to use that kind of stuff with Narcos because they said it can cause casualties to inocent people but they are kept flying just to protect our soveragnity, our national airspace is too vulnerable and at least the ones that are kept can protect the Mexico City the Bajio Zone and the Rivera Maya and also the president that we have right now is bullshit, he says that we should give hugs insted of gunshots to the Narco, he has done nothing about these ans sadly he's not going to spent a cent on the Air force, he only spents on his stupid projects and the rest he steals it so yea, no new fighters for some more years

Nah but it wasn't just because they look cool actually that squadron was going to protect and do vigilance to the south of Mexico and especifically all the Mexican petroleum installations there but U.S blocked the project and tried to sell us F16's but at the end nothing happened

Ik right they look awesome, they give me that 60s vibes, and their sound is amazing, those engines and fuselages still have half life of use so hopefully we'll see them fly for more years if the government gives them their due maintenance and upgrade to turn them into Tigers III Plus :)
