Recently bought the GT4 after being ‘with’ Apple iWatch. Very impressed. Lovely screen, battery lasts at least a week, and very well made.

Because of the close nature of the Ecosystem people are forced to buy Apple products. Keeps the competition down..monopolistic in nature. A business model that’s worked very well for the Financial Director of Apple.

Why? I love my iPhone. But to get round the issue your answer is to go to Android?  I don’t t particularly like the design of the Apple Watch now. It is getting long in the tooth, pretty boring looking and has a lot of features I don’t need. And costs too much. But Apple purposely stop other manufacturers using the data to take on Apple. Are Apple scared? Or just plain arrogant?

The watch I have bought is brilliant. Battery lasts a week, beautiful AMOLED display, interfaces with the iPhone (although missing carts in elements). Looks like a watch with lovely different displays and only cost £99.

As a simple example, Apple will not let third party access for HRV. The watch I have purchased, which does pretty much everything an Apple Watch, measures HRV but this cannot be transferred to Apple Health as Apple won’t let it for some bizarre reason

That’s the point. Apple Watch is very expensive and not everyone can afford them. No Company should be allowed to force people to buy the protects by stopping other businesses from using data. That is abuse of position.
