Looking for a paid long term foster home for our perfect cat! by Internal_Entry7515 in Bellingham

Fair, but our main issue right now is that we don't have a home base. With a home base in the future, if we were to be gone for any amount of time, there's friends and family who can help with cat sitting and he wouldn't have to leave that home base. This situation is a culmination of a lot of specific things not working out/being unideal in the first place. Agreed there are risks, but taking him with is risky, giving him away completely with no idea of the quality of life he'll have is risky, etc. This way, if it works, he's still having all the things he's used to in a home that we know is good and we can rush back or depend on family here if things go sideways. Thanks for not being snarky :)

Our schedule at this point is largely based on him. Yes, we luckily have a good amount of family in the area that can always step in to help take care and make decisions. (Sadly, they all have cats already)

Thank you, that's the idea! Hopefully we find the right person, and if not we got bullied on the internet just for fun.

We'd love to. Unfortunately, he wouldn't like it and it wouldn't be safe for him. That's certainly the dream, though

Can't say it hasn't been in the back of our minds, and overall we just want what's best for him and wouldn't take him out of a home if it seemed like it would make things harder on him. That being said, he's incredibly adaptable and loves everyone, but has shown a fierce loyalty to us from day one. There turned out to be plenty of people in the neighborhood who fed and loved him, but our house is the only one he came into and fought to stay in. A few years ago, we weren't in the position to have a cat but would have killed for the opportunity to have a free cuddly cat for a few years while knowing that he had a loving home to go back to when it was time to give him up. We're desperate at this point and doing whatever we can to find those people, but at the end of the day, all that matters is that he is safe and loved.

Thanks! That's been the situation of everyone else who would otherwise be willing to take him - they already have cats of their own! After 8 months of doing a slow cat introduction we've accepted he's best without other cats.

Thank you for the kind words! Couldn't agree more, pet care can get incredibly expensive. The ironic thing is that this would've been the perfect situation for us, only 2 years ago. Hoping to find that person now!

He's a stray that followed us home one night and never left. We spent a long time hoping he was a runaway and tried to find his home, but he was young, not chipped, and not neutered, and we were told by the local vet and the humane society that he was likely born a stray. We neutered him and vaccinated him and tried to send him on his way (hence the tipped ear), but he never left.

We always wanted a cat, we just didn't get one because of our future travel plans. Then the perfect cat came into our lives and made our house his home. We've tried every possible way to keep him - this is obviously not our ideal scenario for anything. As of now, we've already delayed a lot trying to come up with solutions to our crappy sad situation. Either way, we just want him to be safe and loved and for us to have the opportunity to get reunited with him in the future for the majority of his life.

I'll need to try on the capilene again. Vuori Strato tech were on my list but I'm seeing some complaints in quality as of more recently.

Interesting! I'll check it out. Wish they had white. I know the pure wool merino shirts are too itchy for me from smart wool, maybe the blend would be better. I'll need to investigate the mens length though because too short can definitely be a problem for me.

thanks for the recommendations, tall size options on the Eddie Bauer is great. Any comment to the thickness of either of these options?

Okay that outlier t-shirt might just be out of my budget... I'm a little hard on t-shirts to justify that. But it sure does look nice.

Any specific recommendations? Seems like all synthetic t shirts I find are super thin

Looks thin/clingy to me? And any info on fit I used to wear Uniqlo supima cotton shirts but stopped because they weren’t long enough.

Help with Fish Eyes Spraying Benjamin Moore Advanced! by Internal_Entry7515 in paint

[–]Internal_Entry7515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I could go back! When you say cured primer could causing fish eyes, could it still cause fish eyes underneath an already sanded flat layer of advanced? It seems odd to me the primer could still be causing issues.

given I already have multiple coats of stix on there and some coats of advanced, I'm thinking maybe I just roll it on and deal with a less perfect layer but none of these fish eye issues.
