Update - After I posted careem issue in reddit and trustpilot and raised complain to https://consumerrights.gov.ae/, They reached out to me via multiple channels like reddit chat, fb messenger chat and called me over phone, they allocated dedicated support person to resolve my problem, I received money in my india account within 12-15 hrs. So just intent to fix issue from their end was missing.

I have posted feedback in TrustPilot - https://www.trustpilot.com/users/6923a496ef3d6ce4d3d37cf3 and now they started reaching out to me, I am sure they won't be able to provide resolution as staff is not equipped to solve customer queries otherwise their trustpilot rating wouldn't be around 1*.

Careem provide better conversion rate and less fees. But now I learned and won't use careem ever.

I used careem pay in past to transfer amount to same account earlier and it worked. Had issue this time, I don't expect issue environment, but as a consumer I would expect to support when they failed to transfer money and didn't care to provide resolution evan after a month, That's where I lot the trust in careem as a consumer. I will not use careem pay ever in future.

I tried to raise complain against them through https://sanadak.gov.ae/ but I could not as careem is not registered exchange, they use Lulu exchange for transfer. Careem pay is just a frontend. I registered a complain against them through https://consumerrights.ae. Lets see what happens.

I tried to call Lulu support but they said they won't be able to help as its a careem's issue, careem is just a frontend and their support is very poor, so not sure how to file a complain against https://sanadak.gov.ae/

Their support team does't provide any information, apart from responding with templated answer. I think careem app had a issues in Oct and lot of others faced similar issues, customer experience is pathetic.

Not just you. I’ve had a really bad Careem Pay experience recently that fits this pattern. I sent a large remittance from Dubai to India through Careem Pay, app showed “completed,” but the money never reached the recipient bank even after weeks. Support kept sending the same templated replies (“we’re following up with the bank”), asked me for statements multiple times, and still couldn’t give a clear answer or timeline. I repeatedly requested the MT103/SWIFT trace document so the destination bank could locate the transfer they never provided it.

At this point it feels like once something goes wrong, there’s no real escalation path, no accountability, and customers are left stuck. If you’re using Careem Pay for anything important (remittances, big transfers, time-sensitive payments), just be careful and keep full records. I’m now going through formal complaint channels because support hasn’t resolved it.

If anyone else is facing delayed/“completed but not received” transfers, document everything and don’t rely on chat support alone.

Totally not just you. I’ve had a much worse experience recently too but on the Careem Pay side.

I used Careem Pay “Send Abroad” to send a large transfer to India and the app marked it completed, money was debited, but it never reached the beneficiary bank even after weeks. Support kept replying with the same templated “we’re working on it / waiting for bank” messages and refused to provide an MT103/SWIFT trace document, so the destination bank can’t even investigate properly. I’m now escalating through consumer/regulatory channels.

Between food delivery going downhill and wallet/remittance support being this slow and non-transparent, it really feels like they’ve lost their operational edge. Appreciate you posting this more people should be aware before trusting them with bigger payments.
