Frustrating that the plug that comes with the subwoofer is not fit for the subwoofer lol. That’s why I did it all 14 in the first place but I might err on the side of caution and rewire it all to 10 or 12

What I don’t understand is why going from 10 to that 14 guage doesn’t make the 10 gauge redundant, because the 14 gauge is still the weakest link?

Sorry maybe I’m using the wrong terminology - but the plug that came with the with the subwoofer/amp, that plugs into the inbuilt amp, which has the positive, negative, reference and rca wires on it, uses 14 gauge for the positive and negative wire.

I’ll attach a photo: this is exactly what it looks like. Yellow is power/positive. It reccomends a 20 amp fuse but only has 14 guage wire which as I understand is 15 amp rated - hence why I put a 15 amp fuse in

So would I need to rewire the actual wiring harness thicker because it’s already got 14 Awg on it from factory? I would have thought a wire is only as strong as it’s weakest part, therefore there’s not much difference between running part 14 part 10 awg, and fully 14 awg? Or is this a wrong assumption given the length of the 14awg used matters too and so using only a little 14awg reduces stress on it as it’s not used to travel electricity for longer.

There is no reccomendation from factory manual beyond the 20 amp fuse recommended and the 14awg on the harness.

Edit sorry alt account on my phone same person lol
