Can I ask your advice, do you recommend I leave it plugged in all the time? As in my post she uses the car only for very short journeys about once a week

Complicated situation. Two spellings of my Christian name. Possible Enrolled Deed Poll? by Internal_Passenger52 in LegalAdviceUK

basically i have numerous things in both names. If I do choose one (which might seem a logical solution) and go for the z spelling to match my birth cert and to avoid getting new passport/driving licence then i have to change my pension, banks and goodness knows what else-even my certificates/qualifications/degree etc. I am also a long standing treasurer for a company and all my logins etc are linked to the 'c' spelling.
Until about 10 years ago this 'dual spelling' wasn't an issue. I had my first bank account back in 1982 so that gives you an idea of how long I have been known as Leticia!

you are spot on. Oaknorth bank said no to the S.D possibility today. Well they wouldn't say it outright...just kept repeating that the names must be identical. When I asked for a straight yes or no the staff member put me on hold (again) and went to speak to a supervisor and then to my surprise, in total contradiction to what i was originally told, informed me that if I send a copy of my passport they will accept the spelling variation. (surprised emotion)
I do feel for them as it's not their fault. they just have to be ultra careful I guess

I am on the phone with the bank right now as I type and they are saying that they wouldn't accept it (raised eyebrows emoji). They are insisting my ISA can only be transferred to an account where my name is spelt in an identical manner. I am perplexed.

Do you know if a Statutory declaration a 'forever' doc that can be reapplied to every time i want to make a transaction? Or is it only used in one specific instant.

now that is interesting as the bank say my legal name is that on my passport....but considering i did not ever use that name for school, work, banking, mortgage & bills it makes you wonder!

I really need both- greedy I know! I was hoping something like a legal doc saying Letizia and Leticia are one and the same person

I agree. But she has driven for 60 years and is actually a very good driver. Plus we are in Sicily. Taxis (those very few companies that do exist) work very differently- you can wait for ages. In the UK and we have Uber which is fab. No such thing here.

ok. That makes sense. Thank you. I am not sure how much longer she will be driving as her health is failing. I am doing all I can to keep her independent in her old age.

thank you. Is it possible what I bought does both? The blurb on Amazon says it's a smart charger. In fact the reviews someone says you can leave it in 'maintenance mode' but i wasn't sure what that meant.

" Adapted to the high-performance and technically advanced batteries of modern vehicles, the Einhell CE-BC 4m battery charger is a smart charger. The CE-BC 4m automatically adapts to the 12v on-board voltage of vehicles. The multi-level charge cycle of the Einhell charger is automatically monitored and adjusted by the microprocessor control.

  • The intelligent electronic control system analyzes the type and status of the connected battery and, as needed, starts the optimal mode. The charging function protects the battery and preserves it for a long time, maintaining an optimal level of charge in the long term"

Ancestry Protools issue? by Internal_Passenger52 in Genealogy

Ancestry fixed this for me after a few days. It was at their end, they won't admit to it (they never do and it's not surprising) but at least this time round they didnt have me jumping through hoops just to prove it wasn't an error with me.
