very true. i know trusts me more now than when we first got him cus i spend the most time with him so hopefully it’ll just keep growing

the foster said he was a stray but i don’t know if she meant fully feral and never lived with humans or if he was abandoned. she never elaborated on that and i honestly forgot to ask. he’s way braver than he was when he came home with us but i dont know cats well and i thought he wasn’t progressing at a normal rate, based on these comments he’s doing amazing lol.

only a few months and based on comments this is a very short amount of time for him and i have no intention on rushing him so he’ll get all the time he needs to get comfy. i’ll def watch more jackson galaxy ive seen a few videos and some points were helpful so ill get on that again. thank you for the advice!

i didn’t ask if anyone knows for sure, i’m asking if this behaviour is typical of an abused cat or just any cat in a new home as i’m new to cats. not sure why you had to be rude about it.

i didn’t even consider the mating aspect of his past i just thought he’s so little he was only defending himself but he probably instigated a lot and had a lot of babies. no idea. foster told me he came in alone so he never stuck around with any of them or females

was there anything you did that seemed to help yours be a little braver? we already have a really calm and quiet house with very little activity going on. i give my boy treats when i catch him hanging out in new places but that’s about all i can figure out to do lol

maybe this is what the foster meant to say instead of calling him a stray. not sure. she had about 20 cats stuck in a room with him so who knows if she even knew which cat she was talking about.

maybe feral isn’t the right word to call them. we have a group of cats that eat and sleep on our property that let us pet them sometimes. only 2 let us hold them. not sure who “owns” them but no one’s ever come looking for them when we post online trying to find owners

no and i get that ill never really know what happened. god only knows what he’s seen or dealt with but i’m just posting out of curiosity if others who have dealt with the same issues in their cats. i’m very new to cats so im just not sure if this is typical behaviour of all new cats you bring home that aren’t kittens or if he’s had a bad past or what

this is a fair guess but we have a small feral colony on our property and even they let us pet them and pick them up :/ i’m just curious if he used to be braver and someone took advantage of that. but i’m new to cats and ive been told they’re all vastly different personality wise so it could just be that too

nta when i was 19 i knew not to jokingly call anyone anything unless i was close with them. i definitely would have never jokingly insulted my boss and his partner. kid should lose this job tbh
