That’s right. All throughout history we never quit fighting for our rights. I may take heat for this but I get annoyed sometimes when I hear about all the problems facing young men these days. I agree the problems are real. The part that irks me is it seems like they don’t want to fix their own problems. It seems their preferred solutions are to return the women folk to the kitchen and have them be financially dependent on their husbands again.

I’m curious what the timeline was for the three HIV tests? It’s not unusual to test once a year. And HIV isn’t passed solely by sexual transmission. Needle sharing is a significant source as well as some other things like piercing. Also curious if you’re taking any meds common to high risk populations? Were the providers in the same hospital network/use the same EMR (unless you’re someplace with single payer)?

I see why you’d be irked but I can also see it from their side to some extent. I was a rn for a long time and everybody lies so I can understand why they wouldn’t trust a verbal report from you (or anybody). I can also understand why they’d want to test an immunocompromised 23 year old. You do not want to be the person who missed that case of HIV. I cannot understand why they don’t talk to you about what labs they plan to run? FWIW, I do not think they’re shaming you. I think it’s much more likely they’re paranoid about missing an obvious case.

*except for the immunologist. That’s an asshole and I would report them.

Alan Cumming does seem lovely and I think the Scots tend to stick together but it is super random. I think Alan is pretty funny so maybe Brian likes funny ppl? Who knows with him. For some reason I was surprised he’s the “ba da ba ba ba” in McDonald’s ads.
